Great buy for developers
Every developer should have a workstation with one of these microprocessors. I like to write multithreaded algorithms like matrix multiplication in C/C++. Owning this processor put me in the big leagues, where problems I used to be able to ignore, problems that only impacted big companies like Google, I finally got the opportunity to take a crack at. It presented an enormous opportunity, because I was able to make a name for myself being one of the first person in my field to bring these kinds of CPU optimizations to the open source community. In a few years I imagine everyone is going to have a CPU like this. I'm not sure if they're ready for consumers quite yet. But any developer who doesn't have this is going to be left out like a dinosaur.

String theory
Don’t get me wrong it’s a great cpu for when browsing, gaming and quantum computing. It didn’t have enough threads for string theory will make it a 5 star once it does.

Great for Web Browsing
I helped my Uncle Bob paint his house, inside and out, white, so he gave me this as one of a few gifts. I'm using an RTX 3050 TI, 450W power supply, and 16 GB of DDR5 4000MHZ RAM. The download speeds to my Seagate Barracuda 256HDD are amazing and it also works great for web browsing. The graphics look awesome too on my 720p DVI monitor. I have to use a Displayport to HDMI and HDMI to DVI converters. My only issue is that it takes 3 minutes to power on, has an occasional 5-second stutter and sometimes powers off. Overall great CPU, wish it didn't take so much power though. I've already went through multiple computer batteries. I've used multiple 450W supplies already and even the 550W ones last just as long.

Doesn't Meet My Needs
Although this is extremely expensive it doesn't function as well as I thought. I render multiple videos and 3d model simultaneously. For example, I was rendering a skibidi toilet Ohio gyatt sigma rizz edit when all of a sudden my computer shut down and I traced the problem back to this threadripper. Really disappointed with this, especially the fanum tax 😔

Minecraft is still laggy at 150fps 4K
Gramps let me order with his Amex Centurion because my Minecraft was lagging at 150fps running 4K with my 4070 TI when playing with the boys. I totally forgot to buy thermal paste when ordering this thing and it was here so I couldn't wait, I had Memaw run me to Wally, so I could grab some Artic Silver. Got back home and slapped this baby in. Got a little Dorito dust in the paste from my fingers but since it looked really cool I left it.It runs a bit hot so my fan screams all the time. Burning plastic smell too.The worse part... Minecraft still lags at 150fps!Think I'm gonna toss it and ask for an intel Xeon 8270 2.7ghz for Christmas. If Minecraft is still laggy I'm done.
