Compact and complete
This summer will be my third time on the Camino. I think Brierley is the best, if you like to have a hard copy to hold in your hand.He includes clear maps, all the albergues, and an array of places to stay, with phone numbers and prices. Also, I appreciate his route suggestions and the sights he points out on the way.

It was very useful, and covered all my needs for the journey
I have earlier bought - and used (2017) - Jon Brierley's guidebook to the French Route from St. Jean Pied the Port. It was very useful, and covered all my needs for the journey. This spring (May/June) I will walk from Lisbon to Santiago, and will then plan as per suggestions from above guidebook. Received the book in the mail today, nd can already now say it loos just as good as the book for the French Route.kind regards,Gunnar Sund

Good Guide
Maps were good, it was helpful to have the list of albergues (and prices and numbers) and restaurants, especially. The incline/decline maps seemed a little off sometimes, but overall it was a good general guide. Kind of bulky, so I ended up keeping it in the bottom of my pack and just reading& taking photos of the book each day based on what I planned to walk. Sometimes the instructions were vague or confusing, but there were normally people around when I felt like I was going astray. Bummed that the Finisterre guide is not included in this one, but I guess it’s a better money maker to try to make people buy 2 guides... just a lot of space/weight in the bag to have 2!

Walk the Camino with this Pilgrim's Guide
We used this book when we walked the camino in 2015 and it was the best guide we could find. It was accurate and up to date and shows alternate routes as well. Of all our trips in our 40+ year marriage this was by far the best we've ever done. Wish we were younger to do it again!!

Time will tell.
Bought this book for my upcoming Camino which I hope to take. Will be interesting to see how much of it will be relevant post- COVID. My guess is that some of it will change. Not the fault of the book of course.Print is very small and may have to bring a magnifying glass on my hike. Us old hikers have a bit of trouble with smaller prints. Does help me plan and dream until the day comes when I can take my first step to Santiago.

Helpful guide
Very helpful. I would have liked more info on the Litoral Sendaroute and more maps.

usable - if you can bear the little homilies..
Very well crafted guide and visually rich. The mauve homilies dotted throughout were irritating - I would use a thick pen and blot those out if I use this guidebook. But truth to say I am looking to get a different guidebook to this one and bin this one. Four stars because the author very thoroughly crafyed his book.

Great
You really just need this one rather than this one and the smaller version. I bought the lot - app/ additional maps - didn’t need any of it. All you need is in here. We walked from Porto and the accuracy is amazing. Thank you John!

Useful guide to the Camino Portuguese
John Brierley guides provide all the information needed to plan your Camino Walk.It also makes a good guide to carry with you on your walk - the only downside is that there are 4 different routescovered by this book and I had difficulty differentiating between them - layout could be better.

Clear and helpful
Excellent clear guide book. Have not used it yet but found the other book by John Brierley on Camino Frances invaluable during that pilgrimage last year, and this one is the same format.

Easy rad and very helpful
John brieley is just so good at this. I'm sure this book will be as helpful as his book I used on the camino francais
