Very informative book.
Growing up on the Plains the Jobber or oil and gasoline distributor was a common sight in the small towns. Pipelines had already made an inroad on railroad deliveries of petroleum products, and trucks brought them in from the terminals. Still, it is interesting to learn how oil is refined and distributed. Out here, farmers were dependent on the jobbers and LPG distributors. My dad drove gasoline transports out of the Sugar Creek Refinery in Kansas City for a time, while my mom’s dad sold propane in North Central Nebraska.
