Drop in upgrade for my Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop. Cut boot time from 3 minutes to about 20 seconds
My old faithful Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop (Intel Core i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz / 2.40 GHz) (circa 2017) was staring to show its age. Incredibly slow to boot and sluggish all around. Did not want to drop hundreds on a new machine so rolled up my sleeves and dug in. First upgraded the RAM from 8mb to 16mb. Helped overall performance but not boot time. Went all in and decided a new SSD to replace the original HDD was in order. Chose this Kingston 960gb A400 SATA drive based upon price and info from the Kingston web site that said it would be a drop in replacement. It was and after two weeks in operation I could not be happier.Got me a USB3.0 to 2.5 SATA SDD Cable (Amazon item B00HJZJI84) to clone my old drive to the new. For unknown reasons, I could not get the Acronis True Image cloning software that is available for free download at the Kingston web site to work. It kept telling me there was not enough space on the new SSD even though I was transferring less than 200gb to a 960gb drive. Eventually downloaded a free trial version of Maricum Reflect X and used that to clone my old HDD to the new Kingston SSD. The Maricum software worked on the first try.Once the clone was complete I removed the old HDD from the laptop and installed the new SSD. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube so I will leave that to you. Powered up the laptop and after a few self-induced power cycles it booted up. Only oddity I experienced is the Dell BIOS made me reset the system time. Since then the Kingston SSD has worked perfectly. The boot up time is spectacular compared to my old HDD and with the expanded RAM the laptop is humming along. The SDD, cable, and the RAM set me back less then a Hundo. A huge savings over purchasing a new machine.Of course time will tell but for now I highly recommend !

That day when quality met performance and performance met price.
I'm rebuilding a Dell E6440 and the DVD drive was wearing out. So, I opted for an additional drive, instead. This SSD fits inside of a caddy sold on Amazon. The hardware installation was straightforward. But I'm not a professional so I waited until my Wife got home. She's a Computer Science Grad. For her it was easy to set up. And it works great. Very fast file transfer speed. And very reliable. It's a Kingston product, and Kingston products are very high quality. The price is a bargain. I highly recommend this Kingston SSD.

Big improvement
I have a 10 year old iMac computer. It seemed to be getting slower. Took quite a while to boot up. I got the Kingston SSD drive. I didn't want to take off the computer screen so I got a 3.0 USB cable and mounted it externally. Did my research on how to install it on the internet and Youtube. It was easier than I expected. I transferred my data from the old HD to the SSD. Made it my primary drive. It has been working great for a year. Faster boot up and the computer runs faster with no issues. Quieter. Very happy.

Really improves the speed and performance of your computer.
First I used Macrium Reflect Free Version 7 to clone the Windows O/S from my old, Dell laptop hard drive. Then I plugged the new SSD drive into an adaptor and hooked it to to the laptop with a usb cable. Next I ran Macrium and restored the clone to the new SSD. Took all of 15 minutes. On boot up Windows went from its usual two minutes to 18 seconds! No lie. In addition, every thing else on the computer is now running 90% faster and flawlessly. Best $47 I've spent in a while.

Better for external than internal
It's not the fastest or most durable, but it's cheap.Better SSDs have a small chunk of DRAM to run file location functions while operating. DRAM is faster temporary memory which can handle loads of read/writes without wearing out. This SSD does that directly on the flash storage. It's a cheaper way to build a drive, but slower and can wear out the memory just like if you re-wrote files constantly. It actually works out OK, but not a great choice for an internal drive in a high-use machine (especially a mini server). It's worth buying something better for machines you really care about long term. However, it's perfectly fine for backups and transfers. And plenty reliable if you want to turn an older laptop into a travel device or terminal.Check specs and tests if you do look for something better, rather than comparing star ratings directly. Most people probably buy this for the low-intensity purposes I suggested, so it gets rated appropriately high. Good SSDs made for harder professional use will have similar overall ratings after being subjected to much harsher use than a backup drive which spends most of its life powered off.
