My daughter is getting married this summer and her only instructions were to wear a long dress and it had to be gray. After unsuccessfully searching all the department stores in my area, I decided to order online. I was originally looking for a lighter gray or silver dress because of being outdoors in summer, but like the darker charcoal shades better. This dress had a slight steel blue tint to it, but not enough for the bride to veto as an acceptable color. I wanted a dress without a tight waist since I'm a bit thickish in that area, and seeing the laced up back sealed the deal. Unfortunately, there were two serious problems with the dress, which resulted in my returning it. First, there was a 2" long tear in the stitching at the front waist which was not repairable. When I opened the package, the dress was inside out, so I don't know if it had been tried on before and the wearer shipped it back that way to avoid detection, or if it was just a flaw in the sewing. The other problem was the sewn in bra cups were about 3" too high, very thick and rigid, and just all around weird. There was no way to remove them without cutting apart the entire inner lining. I didn't even bother trying to lace up the back because the front was so ill fitting and I knew as soon as I saw the gap in the stitching that the dress was going back. If those two flaws weren't present, I would have kept it and given it 5 stars. It's a pretty dress for the price.

Very lovely dress. I will have to pay for alterations as I bought two sizes up to accommodate my large breasts.I wrote that first review before I actually wore the dress to a wedding. This dress is so very heavy. The padded area did not sit well so when I sat it was protruding. It just looked weird. Maybe I should have had the padding removed. On the day of the wedding I found myself tacking the waist and breasts area because the material wasn't stitched properly and was falling apart. I called my seamstress and told her I need some more alterations. By the way I also had the sleeves removed because they did not did properly. Just looked awkward so she removed them for me.

What a strange dress! I'm 5'9 and this dress was probably 4 or 5 inches too long. Who are they selling this to? Some details just spoke to the cheaper quality of this dress - the padding in the bust area was in the weirdest place, I could make it work, but it still felt very strange. The loops on the back for the lace up portion had an odd number of loops, so no matter how you laced it, you'd always end up having to jump over an extra loop. And the ends of the lace up strip were completely unfinished, and fraying. This one went pack to Amazon immediately.

This is going to be used as a bridesmaid dress for a wedding in October. I went by their size chart and ordered an 18. I'm normally a 14-16 in jeans so definitely go by the size chart not your normal size. The dress is a little big & baggy in areas but I'm sure a 16 would've been too small. There is no give to the fabric. It'll need to be altered and taken in. Easy fixes. Also worth noting the color plum is more of a purple grape color than the dark version shown here.

Ok, while I put that it fits and I gave it 5 stars, it really only fits from the waist down. I'm 5'1, 120 lbs roughly, and I had to have it altered in the shoulders and length. They lifted it up about 2 inches on both sides. I got an 8 and glad I did. I could have gone smaller but from reading other reveiws i was nervous. The tie up back helps out a lot. And not to get to personal, but within my own religious beliefs I have to have some good shoulder cap sleeves, and this dress covers what I need it to cover PERFECTLY. While I did have to have it altered, the price for the alterations was very worth it considering how inexpensive the dress was.

I'm a pear shaped gal, so even if I got a smaller size I doubt it would fit, even with the lace-up back. Overall this was a good dress for the price, but you'll need bigger chest than I have to fill it out.My measurements.Bra band : 37Chest: 41Waist: 37I bought an 18W

strange construction for the top of the dress and still not sure how it is supposed to work. Unfortunately, not going to work for event it was ordered for, but should be able to wear it for other formal affairs, but it does fit and the length is perfect

Pros: basic construction was better than I expected. Has boning in the bodice. CONS: 1)Ordered the burgundy. It arrived and is more brownish... Not a flattering color! Kinda ugly. 2) I have no idea what is going on with the bra pads! They are bent, folded, and imbedded into the VERY top of the bodice- not in the actual breast area. Cannot be fixed without ripping open the bodice as they lay between the chiffon and liking. 3) sleeves are kinda bulky, like shoulder pads. Not flowy and pretty as the photo.END RESULT: returning.
