My son's previous pair of shoes were Timberlands which fell apart within 2 terms. These are currently still in great shape after 1 term, mainly down to the defensive rubber covering the toes. Based on the rate of wear, I expect them to last until he's grown out of them. Excellent purchase.

I purchased these for my 8 year old son, he is a normal boy doing normal boy things and has never broken a pair of shoes before. He mostly grows out of them or they wear out after a reasonable time.I purchased these as the 12 month I destructable warranty promised quality. Oh dear, first pair, the metal buckle that holds the strap to the shoe snapped as my son did them up. I contacted treads and they were quick to send out a replacement.Two months later the second pair have broken in exactly the place under the same circumstances.The warranty only covers the first pair however Treads did offer a replacement pair. I had to decline as the only styles available had the same type of fastening and I didn't want to risk the same issue reoccurring.From a customer service point of view I cannot fault Treads as a company and if they sort the buckle issue then I will return as a customer on that fact alone.Update 27/07/2018I have today been contacted by the very nice and polite Beth from the supplier. She informed me that this quality issue had been looked into and that the buckles were part of a faulty batch, this has now been sorted. She offered me a replacement pair free of charge. I declined as its now the school holidays and in 2 months time my son may need a larger size. Not a problem apparently, I am being sent a replacement pair in the next size up, albeit with laces as that design starts at a 3.So from having a poor experience over quality, and even then I couldn't fault the customer service, I am now adding to the review as this company clearly tries its hardest to please the customer. Faith restored I will use them again.I have looked at the feedback for these on the treads website and it seems not to be an isolated case.Very disappointing, please address your quality issues treads

3 weeks in and still looking great- have had well known brands falling apart by now previously. I have a very active 7 year old so time will tell if they can do what they say on the box! Only wish they made them smaller so my 5 year old could get some too...

Unfortunately they are huge, stiff, clobbery, so not only do they look awful but they are also uncomfortable. I will need to buy another pair !

My son loves these school shoes, very comfortable for him. There are 2 insolesso if your child has a wider foot, then you can remove one. Great shoes

Brilliant shoes..fit very well..considering we had to buy a pair every month - 2 months for my son..these seem very durable and the cheapest I could find for good leather school shoes.

Well we are just coming up to half term and the shoes have been worn since going back to school at start of the term and as good as new.
