This kit is really cool, and I especially like that it comes with multiple revolving window tiles,It comes with..1 big square base4 of the smaller triangle/half square pieces4 of the tall triangle pieces4 of the revolving window pieces10 regular squaresIt counts the window and the window frame as two individual pieces, and also counts the markers as well.So in reality there are only 23 of the tiles, not even 28.It also counts the cardboard box as one piece as well. Very deceptive.Also, this kit includes a WHITE marker, which is ABSOLUTELY pointless. It does not work AT ALL on the black tiles. If it were a paint marker, that would probably work, but it is not a paint marker.

If you have kids with active imaginations, this is a wonderful set. It's enough pieces to build a "haunted house" or to supplement a bigger set of magformers. It works great. The markers are a hit, just make sure to have a papertowel handy. I was worried that these would get marker on the carpet, but it stayed on the tile just fine.

I love that crayola also came out with their own version of the magnetic tiles. These tiles are great because the magnets appear to be tucked away completely, they aren't visible as with some of the cheaper versions. The black and white colors were intriguing with the idea of "doodling" on them, this was a fun creative idea. However the markers that come with the tiles are absolute garbage. They aren't pigmented at all, very streaky, dry out fast, ink is flaky when dried on the tiles. I've already thrown away two markers because they dried out after one use. Also, the box shows an orange marker, but there is no orange colored marker included with the set.I like the versatility of the different shapes and the "window" spinning tiles but the centers of those window tiles pop out and aren't magnetic. There is one giant square tile you can use as a base, but we use a small cookie sheet. In theory these magnetic tiles were a good idea but the markers are just bad so I took one star off. Overall, the price seems fair for the set of 35 at $35 and we couldn't done without the markers.

I bought these because I thought my kids would enjoy writing on them and creating their own world using the markers and tiles together. Since the tiles aren't see through like standard magnetic tiles, it makes it easier to see what you've written. However, my kids didn't really seem to care about writing on the tiles, they just wanted to build stuff. The provided markers are easy to wipe off the tiles, but I'm not sure we will end up using them much. Overall, the tiles are compatible with our other Magna Tiles and Connectix tiles and the kids have integrated them into their stash of tiles without issue.

I knew it was only 35 pieces from the item description, but I think that must include the markers (5) in that count. You can't make many different things with so few pieces. Like another reviewer said, the markers are very weak. I don't know what markers they used for the pictures, but these are not that bright and don't transfer particularly well. Think of a dry erase board. When your child draws on the magnets, if he or she so much as touches the marker ink on the tile, it wipes right off on their little fingers. I get that's part of the color and clean feature, but the fun does not really outweigh the cleanup. My daughter was over it in about 15 minutes and just added the magnet tiles to her regular magnet tile collection.
