Columbia Men's Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Hiking Boot

This boot is fantastic right out of the box! It’s comfortable, provides excellent arch support, and the width is just right. The leather appears to be coated, allowing water to bead and run off, making them water resistant. I’ll provide an update on scuffing after my son has put more miles on them.The tread looks well-made, and I’m confident they’re slip-resistant based on my initial check. I purchased these for my son for Boy Scouts hiking and camping trips in a size 7.5 wide. He and I normally wear the same size, but I went up half a size and chose the wide option because his foot is broader and he usually wears thicker socks for hiking or camping.They’ll be used for a weekend camping and hiking trip soon, and I’ll update once he’s broken them in. For $45, these boots are an excellent value I have no complaints!

I've worn some terrible boots, like those US Army boots that required breaking-in before they didn't hurt your feet, and others that became too tight as they aged, or developed a lump on the insole that had to be patched or padded.Columbia boots aren't like that at all, because they fit properly the first time you put them on and continue to fit until their service life is done (still trying to figure out when that will be.)These Newton Ridgeline II hiking boots are the 3rd pair I have, the oldest being about 7 years and still worn for work. The other, 5 years in use has only shown visible signs of use on the outside, remaining perfectly comfortable and staying in the right position on the foot (not sliding or slipping sideways, etc.) Surprisingly, the pair I just received are nearly identical to those, except for the new boot smell. The soles and treads of these boots is amazingly unworn and intact, unlike others that I've tried that got worn-down at the heels, or lost a piece of tread when something sharp was stepped on. After un-boxing these new Newtons I checked the size inside the tongue, examined the pair for symmetry, and then tried them on without socks to feel no seams or ridges, or anything except cool support. These are very good boots. There might be better selections out there somewhere but they probably cost a whole lot more. What I particularly like about Columbia boots is the way they look, without all the neon colors and fancy external patterns that either go with a space-suit or should be worn on a basketball court. Columbia boots don't look like that because that's not what makes them good. It's the precise design and excellent craftsmanship and the great fit.

The quality materials and fit its excelent, very confortable and great price! very recomended. For a long time i have been loocking options to buy a boots for hiking and long walks, this one was a perfect choice.

If you like great tread,great construction,nice appealing style and quality in your Hikers buy this boot like I did...I have turned too Columbia apparel and gear about 4-5 years ago and nothing in my opinion has beat the quality versus affordability for a lasting product such as them...it's not cheap but it's worth every penny...my normal shoe size fit spot on and my clothing size as well...thank you Columbia for coming through on these Hiking boots they are super comfortable,lightweight and really cool and rugged looking...Hope this helps others searching for a good shoe you won't be disappointed I am a warehousing and logistics guy and they do the job easily...the comfort is what I'm most impressed with.

I have been wearing these almost every day as work boots for almost a year now, and I just ordered another pair. I average 10, 000 steps at work, on all different surfaces. This pair of boots is one of the best pair of work boots I've ever had, and are an excellent value. They are very comfortable, and very light. I will never go back to the much more costly, and much heavier boots I used to wear ! Even after almost a year of wear, they still look great and if I didn't walk on the insides of my feet they would last even longer. I can not recommend these boots enough. Columbia quality is excellent, and a great value ! 10 Stars !

Complete water proof boot great for work and very comfortable

Super boots. They hold up very well to the cold weather and been pretty water resistant for the most part. I live in New England and winters can be a mess. These provide great traction and fit well to size. Good ankle support and function well in all weather. I’ve even used them whilst mowing the lawn.

Like these boots a lot - light, water-resistant, great traction. Fair price.
