Best knife purchase ever
I have bought quite a few very sharp knives for cutting joints of meat which are good but heavy to use. Saw this type of knife used by a chef on a youtube video and it looked ideal. Opted for the 11 inch rather than the 14 inch which for me not carving half a pig is ideal. The knife is well balanced and cuts so thinly, even my Husband uses it and he is very fussy. Carving a small 2kgs honey glazed ham joint it cut thin slices when cold like a hot blade in butter. How this will be in 12 months we shall see but for now very pleased. My only moan is that it should be sold with a cover being as sharp as it is. Would have happily paid extra for this.

Excellent knife with a good balance, keeps a sharp edge.
This is the 2nd time I have purchased this particular knife, the 1st was left at a function never to be seen again. A sturdy knife that retains a very good scalloped edge. Multi purpose versatile knife, will just as easily slice a roasted joint as slicing large cake. Would recommend to family and friends.

Great product
Purchased as a gift and had the opportunity to use a couple times, really well made knife with a good weight to it and comfortable to use. Feels like it’s almost too cheap for how good it is!

A great addition to the kitchen
Great knife so far, usually I worry about these things chipping or getting rust spots but all clear so far, hasn't even needed sharpening yet.A very well balanced knife, has some good weight to it as well. Clearly a well made knife

A little thin
Nice handle, good weight, but I felt that the blade was too thin. Purchased for jointing and carving chicken/ turkey, but I don't like it when I can feel it flexing. Perhaps best used for straighforward slicing of meat. Undecided about buying more in the range.

Excellent quality size and feel
I spent a week researching a knife to get. Mercer are a relatively new company to the chef knife market so the price tag is pleasantly lower than it's competition.Beautifully balanced full tang knife, sharpened great and a real pleasure to use... It even makes a swish noise when slicing thru my veg! Love it!

Superb Little Knife and Not just For Tomatoes!
I like tomatoes. And I prefer the ones that have been ripened on the vine and are of a variety that has a proper flavour, rather than those that are picked while half-ripe and remain flavourless and bullet-hard for weeks on end.The downside is that the tomatoes I buy can get a little soft just days after purchase. And if, they hide themselves at the bottom of your fridge, only surfacing a week or so later, they can be especially soft and difficult to slice cleanly. So, when I learned of the existence of a knife specifically designed to cut tomatoes, I knew I had to have one! After much deliberation, I decided on this little beauty. Solidly constructed and very nicely finished, it is made from German X50 Cr Mo V15 stainless steel. Very durable and very hard. The latter being important as the serrated edge is going to be rather tricky to sharpen, I think. The blade is very sharp and effortlessly slices even the mushiest of fruits. Its compact size is especially handy for smaller cherry tomatoes which you wouldn’t want to try and hold while attacking with a full-size chef’s or Santoku knife. Handles a variety of small fruits and vegetables and even does a very good job as a mini breadknife when tackling small loaves, rolls and buns.

Fits hand. Cuts nicely. I like it.
What do you want from a knife review? It fits my hand. It cuts nicely. Pares well with wine. Seems to be well made. I use it every day. Literally every day. Yes, I know what literally means. Inexpensive for a knife of this quality. I'm happy with it. Definitely recommend.

I’m slowly changing over all my knives—you don’t need that many! Mercer is the best quality and stays sharp. Money well spent.

Worth the money
We had a decades-old bread knife from this same brand that came with our daughter's culinary school kit. It was and still is an excellent knife but at 16.25" long from tip to end, it was inconvenient to store and too much knife for our needs. This version, which is 13" long from tip to end, is exactly what we wanted. It's very sharp, well-balanced and solid. It fits well in our drawer knife rack and best of all, we can place it flat in our sink when it comes time to wash it. Compared to other brands I considered, the price, while high, is a lot more reasonable than anything else I saw. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Very well made, great feel and balance
I really like the quality feel. The handle is great in the hand, with other knives, the corners of the standard handle cut into my hands. This one is rounded properly. The balance is good and the rounded spine is great. It does not cut into my hands when using a pinch grip and is comfortable if you have to give the blade a push through something hard. It came sharp out of the package. Highly recommended.
