PETZL Unisex's Rig Accessory for Climbing, Yellow, UNI

I've used it on 10mm-11mm ropes and it performs as it should. It's big but it's capable of dealing with my weight plus the weight of my heavy backpack. Something that most of the other types aren't rated for.

Ok, so picture this:You're hanging out with your boys on a sunny afternoon, when all of the sudden you're attacked by a hoard of angry, hungry, and very nimble zombies. Now, you'd think, "What the... " but you know that zombies can't climb ropes. At least not without being a Berzerker, right?So you throw your harness on, (buy a Black Diamond harness at half the price of a Petzl) then tie off that 11.4 mm tactical rope you've been saving in the closet for a "rainy day", and toss it over the cliff. You tie in your RIG, ease toward the edge, and lock and load that AR-15 (assuming you don't live in California, as the bullet button thing would prohibit such a fast laod...). You begin your descent, controlling your rappel with your left hand on the RIG, and blasting those communist zombies with the AR-15 in your right! Now THAT, is what I'm talkin about...The RIG is a good rig, and the only rig I'll run is the RIG from now on... Unless I get a grigri, then I might run that, but the RIG is it for now.

Replaced a Grigri with this absolutely love it. This thing is solid and Perfect control descending used mainly on roofs and tree work. Rope seems to feed nicely for belaying. just a little bit of getting used to.

Operates as smooth as butter. Holds me in place perfectly and much higher safety factor for me cause I'm a heavier guy. Be aware this does not have an anti panic feature, you pull the handle and down you go,full send. Otherwise exactly the fit and finish I expected from this company. I would recommend this over a grigri for heavier climbers and workers.

for personal use, the RIG is the rope handling device that most fits the needs.light, spring loaded handle, handles the rope very smoothly and stops when it should.Not to bulky as the ID but it does not have anti panic function so.... DONT PANIC.I would only change this device for one that would integrate pulley efficiency in the mix.price/functionality/quality this is the best option for rope "charmers" like myself.

Use this for animal recovery in the mountains. You can trust your life to this baby. WellMade
