My goal in purchasing this vest was to combine it with a backpack and to counter balance my load (better for my back). It's not a fashion statement.It does combine well with a backpack. There are many pockets and tie-on points. I wish the pockets were larger for my gear. I had to resort to tying things on to get enough weight to counter balance.I overdid it with carrying too much weight (bottles of water) using the inside mesh pockets, and as you can see from my pictures, the mesh pulled apart. I've sewn it back together.When I use it as a standalone (vest only) solution, the pocket size is still on the small side -- I can't fit a full sized water bottle into the pockets without it falling out when I bend over.

Love this!! I did not want to carry a purse when I went to NYC and did not want my wallet in my backpack. I wanted something that was not too bulky, yet easily accessible. Although this cost more than I wanted to spend, it was well worth the cost. I put my phone and camera on one side and my wallet on the other. Tickets and receipts were put in the two top pockets. The way this is constructed made it easy to access what I needed. This worked great with my small back pack. It fit well under my rain jacket. Also, it is easy on and off. Can't wait for another trip. This would be very practical for hiking, sightseeing, spending the day at the fair or amusement park, day long shopping trips and whatever you would be doing and not want to be bothered with a purse or camera bag. Used this vest in conjunction with my full pack on a recent wilderness hike. I wanted to conceal carry due to lots of bear activity and the extra pockets seemed perfect for snacks, maps, and gps. I hate having to take off my pack to get to the little things. I left the vest attached to my pack straps the entire week and it held up well. The straps tend to get a bit tangley but other than that, this was a great addition. Plenty of convenient room in the big front pocket for conceal carry.

I didn't have high expectations for this pack and am now very pleasantly surprised. I am a serious hiker that includes carrying lots of camera gear for documenting my trips. This pack teams up with my day pack to make quick access to my gear a real pleasure. It is light weight but surprisingly sturdy. It is nice that it can be opened while hiking in hot weather for a quick cool down. I truly believe it's the best bet for many applications. It's very comfortable on long hikes and rides nicely with a load in it. I strongly recommend it to any outdoor enthusiast! The price seemed a little high, but it was worth the investment! I really enjoy all the features this pack has to offer. I use mine for camera gear when backpacking and I am amazed at how much this thing holds. I love this! I can carry everything so bye bye purse. It’s also not hot and great for travel. iPhone plus fits in the pockets too. I’m going to order more for gifts later.

Like an extra set of pockets that moves from summer heat to a snowstorm!
