The best bang for the buck
This is a review for Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum, 1 Ounce from Neutrogena.I'm one of those people who can get completely overwhelmed in the skincare aisle. I become boggled by the seemingly endless choices and promises and it can sometimes leave me feeling unsure and deflated. I decided to try this serum because of the reviews, and because I've had good results with Neutrogena products previously.I have sensitive skin and have tried enough skincare lines to become wary of empty product promises, prescription and over-the-counter. I've certainly spent more on similar products and I'm very happy with the performance and value of the Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum. It flows on smoothly and has a light texture that feels fresh on the skin. I noticed improvement in the first week even though I'm only using it at night for now. My skin is definitely softer and more uniform. I don't know if Neutrogena claims that it brightens, but in photographs I (and others) can definitely see a more clear and reflective image. It's so nice to try a product and see physical proof of the results.Note: I'm an avid outdoors person and gardener with the well-worn hands to prove it. As an afterthought during my skincare routine, I started smoothing the excess serum on the back of my hands. Within a week I could see an improvement in the crepey texture of the skin. There's a definite smoothness and many small wrinkles have reduced. I'm eager to see what additional improvements will show after extended use.If you found this review helpful, please click "yes" below. Thanks!

You're paying for the name.
I've been going to a local big name drugstore and buying their brand. I'm spending much less money and I'm seeing the same results. Isn't it funny how there's so many different choices for your face routine. This is not the 50s name brand recognition isn't what it used to be if it ever was.

Best Face Care System for the Money
I am 75 years old. For years and years I have been using the Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair moisturizers - both the night version and the day version which has sunscreen it. I read the reviews of the serum so I decided to add it to my skin care regimen. Although I believe the long term use of the moisturizers have prevented me from having any crow's feet and fine wrinkles on my face, the serum also has added to the lightening/brightening effect and smoothing effects of the moisturizers. Unlike the moisturizer, the serum is quickly absorbed into my skin. And the effects were very rapid and could be seen in a few days with brown spots getting even lighter than they were. So although my skin is better than most people my age, the serum made my skin even better. So after I wash my face, I now use the serum and then the moisturizer. These products are among the more expensive of the Neutrogena skin care line. The important active ingredients in the serum and the moisturizers are retinol, which is like Retin-A, only gentler and slower acting, hyaluronic acid, and glucose complex. The retinol and glucose gently exfoliate getting rid of dead skin cells, smoothing and lightening the skin by evening pigmentation. the hyaluronic acid helps your skin hold water and plumps up any wrinkles you may aleady have to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Even if you have dark skin, the products even out pigmentation and make your skin look brighter. For an initial investment of about $70 for all three products, you will be on your way to a better appearance.

Gentle, but nothing rapid about it... + update
I alternate use of this, which is a very mild retinol, with more powerful stuff at night. I like this as a primer, during the day, esp. after a night with the heavy duty retinol I use, and the BHA with which I exfoliate. It does have a lot of silicone in it, and when using it during the day, you have to be careful not to over apply, or your make-up will roll up, and off.I target the areas it's needed most, (11's, sides of my nose, old scars, and chin) by dabbing it on- don't rub, or it will roll up and off!Give it plenty of time to dry before putting on make-up. I blow dry my hair on cool, and that seems to be about the right length of time. I took off a couple if stars because the first time I bought it, I used it, and only it, night and day, and it barely lasted a month. I saw nothing rapidly changing, so am not sure how it can claim to either repair wrinkles or be quick about it. I will continue to use it because it is a good primer, and feels soothing after using more potent, effective products.Update - I am just now opening this actual product, I took all this time to use the product I bought in a drug store! So, used as a daytime primer, with a mineral sun block over it, it lasts a very long time. However, I will most likely use this tube up, and not order again. I just don't wear make-up very often, or feel like piling on products, when I am not, other than moisturizer to repair the dryness from the bha and stronger retinol I use at night. This has been a great intro to retinol, but I don't think it is worth the price.

Be careful!! This is strong!
I just finished using my second blue jar of Retinol by Olay. I liked it and I could use it on my eyes and neck as well. I started a week ago to you use this brand. It is very potent and I could feel and see some results immediately on my face. I had to back off a bit by using it every other day on my face as I could feel some light irritation. I did not use it around my eyes but I did on my neck. Big Mistake!! At the first application I ended up with a red patch and my skin is still burning after a week. I should’ve tested first. The same thing happened to me a few years ago using a glycolic pad which I reviewed. The red irritated patch took a year and a half to disappear. I could not put anything on my neck for a very very long time. Not worth trying.
