I'm Impressed
I'm not usually a fan of unknown brand kitchen knives, but I was actually quite impressed with this one. It's very sharp, well finished, fits my hand comfortably, and is made from decent materials. The handle is formed of G10, a fibreglass composite that's decorative, super-tough, and waterproof, making washing an easy task. The blade is mirror polished, and as with any proper chefs knife, requires daily honing to maintain the razor sharp edge. If you expect to use a kitchen knife then throw it back in the drawer without maintaining the blade, you're better off purchasing something cheap and disposable from the supermarket instead. In general, the higher up you go in terms of price and sharpness, the more maintenance a blade will require.Fifty pounds might sound like a lot of money for a kitchen knife if you're unused to high end cutlery, but I think that's a fair cost for this knife. I'm someone who is lucky enough to own kitchen knives ranging in cost from five pounds to upwards of four hundred, so I believe I have a good set of reference points for my conclusion. On the price/performance scale this knife is certainly worth five stars, in my opinion.

An extremely sharp blade
The media could not be loaded. Around the same time I received this I also had another chef's knife that I have already reviewed.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/RO0B9CV62K0XEAlthough I gave teasers as to the performance of the blade in my previous review, the time has finally come for the world premiere of the footage! When the two blades went head to head in a knife fight, there could only be one victor (or potentially a draw). The flashing blue lights of my kettle might have fooled some knives into assuming that the busies were on the way and thus inspired a less confident performance. Instead, the blade quite literally glided through the flesh of the chicken like a small engineless plane, on a day of optimal weather conditions. The winner could not have been much clearer had Gary Kasparov been competing with Peter Andre at chess. Or in a sit-ups contest, in which case Peter Andre would easily pull one back.Apparently the handle of the knife is actually made of metal too, but has colour printed on top. This is a shame in a way, as it might have looked rather good with a purely metallic exterior. It would have given it a slightly eerie minimalistic quality- the sort of knife that one might expect a Scandinavian serial killer to use. As it is, it brings to mind one of those media stunts in which a naked woman has fake clothes painted directly on to her flesh- thus providing an illusory decency, that masks the mere surface of a thoroughly indecent truth. Anyway, all in all its a pretty fearsome blade that is comfortable both to hold and slice with. Even if I were to find myself in the company of Crocodile Dundee, I would happily pull it out and state "This is a knife" without fear of riposte.

Impressively cut through paper, but how is it attached?
Edit to add more info after a bit of use - This knife needs cleaning as soon as you use it if possible, I only left this in my sink, no water, for a few hours and I have a small patch of rust. I would not recommend leaving it in the bowl, simply clean and replace back in the box asap. This knife cut through paper like it was thin air!Chefs kitchen knife for multipurpose use.Packaged well. It arrived in a really nicely designed, black lift up style box. The knife within was beautifully presented. The knife is just exceptional to look at initially, everyone loves a new knife, especially a good knife! The knife is roughly 33cm long, the handle makes up 11cm of that and the handle is roughly 3cm wide. The first test I did was with paper, (my partner insisted, as he is quite into his kitchen knives), this actually impressed me and went straight through the paper, easily at that, with no rough edges in sight.Carving meat is better than I thought it would be, preparation just got a heck of a lot easier! It cut through my butternut squash so much better than I've done it before, I didn't think that was even possible!! It cuts bread also, which I was nicely surprised by.This is a stunning chef knife, it works fantastically, it does seem quite well made and a little weighty. My only concern is, I wonder how the handle is attached, it feels very secure right now but if it's for instance, say glue, I would want to know so I don't misuse cleaning it etc, a little information about the knife and how to care for the knife correctly, would be an added bonus and it would be quite helpful.

Expensive but this is a keeper
Ok, so you’d need to take a deep breath to buy a knife costing £50, but crikey, what a knife. So sharp, it literally makes mincemeat of anything in its path, so mind your fingers! I’ve always just used bog standard cheapo kitchen knives from the supermarket or wherever so this is quite a revelation.Basically you just don’t need to exert any pressure- the blade is soooo sharp, the downward movement simply slices straight through anything before you’ve even thought about it.Chicken bones, cabbage stalks, frozen steak - nothing stands in its way. I’ve been able to chop and slice faster, more accurately and with zero strain in my sad old osteoarthritis ridden wrists. The handle isn’t wood, it’s a kind of grown on steel thing in deep red with whirls to look like wood grain. Doesn’t quite work looks wise but who cares, it’s incredibly comfortable. A nice deep groove for your thumb and finger either side and it kind of nestles in your palm. The knife is very well weighted too, so you can balance it horizontally on your fingertip, the sign of any good knife (or pen actually, a decent pen will rest beautifully).I love it, and I’d give it 5 shining stars but for the life of me, I can’t quite reconcile spending £50 on a knife. I know chefs do, and then some but I’m just an ordinary housewife....it’s so mega sharp though, it’s brilliant.
