High quality paint.
I used this item to rehab a pair of old, but solid wood, twin beds. The paint is very high-quality and the coverage is excellent. I did make sure to prep the beds. I was refinishing by sanding them well and making sure that they were very clean and free from dust before I painted them. I also took the time to go to Chalk Mountain‘s website and read their tutorial about how to use the paint. The tutorial was very straightforward and easy to follow. I sanded the parts of the bed in between coats of paint, and then I sanded all the parts again before I applied the white (limeing) wax finish. The results were stunning. The paint has almost no odor, and I could do it inside or outside.

Great product
I use this on bee hives because bees are sensitive to regular paint. It covers well and looks like regular paint.

Easy for a first-timer
I bought this to repaint a new but ugly cabinet. Mostly I wanted something that wasn't too shiny, in a nice deep brown, and without any odor. See, I live in an apartment, and neither I nor my dog wanted to deal with the fumes, and we don't even have a patio to use to paint outside. So I was thrilled to find this paint with no real odor in the color I wanted. Of course, I'd never even heard of chalk paint, but I liked what I saw in the review pics and in youtube vids, and the price wasn't bad for the small piece I needed to paint.I laid plastic garbage bags over my kitchen table, took the little cabinet apart, and got to painting. I used another brand of brushes made for chalk paint and wax, simply because they were cheap, but they did the job well. In the course of one weekend, I was able to get everything done in two coats, put the cabinet back together, and that was it. I had my cabinet nicely repainted without fuming up the apartment or making a big mess. The color turned out perfect, too!

Coverage, value, & ease of use
I found this paint when I first ordered Chalk Mountain chalk paint brushes. I have now used this paint on 2 major projects in my kitchen. The first was the Kitchen Island (before bottom after top). The second was my kitchen cabinets (after on the left). Coverage is excellent takes 2 coats but this is typical of chalk paints. Goes on smooth with minimal brush strokes (use a paint roller & eliminate all brush strokes). The consistency is not to thick making it easy to use; unlike other brands where water needs to be added to make the paint flow. Durability is there as well. The island was painted over 4 months ago and is withstanding daily use. Both the island and cabinets were sealed in a water based poly. The island a poly designed for chalk paint. The cabinets an exterior water based poly. Both types of poly adhered nicely with no issues. The green is #7 mint and the tan is #26 medium khaki. Chalk Mountain should use the color names rather than numbers, rename the colors to reflect the beach colors that inspired the line, and a round 16 oz container (to get every last drop of paint). These are the reasons I would score it 4.5 stars.Cost is $1-$2 less, at minimum, compared to other brands. The paint performs as well as other chalk paints and in comparison to most goes on smoother reducing the amount of sanding needed. My next project with this paint will be my living room sofa!
