Lovely moisturizer
Molecular Mesh is on the lighter side but it’s very hydrating. It is unscented and seems great for sensitive skin. The texture is similar to an emulsion. This moisturizer competes with higher end creams too. Highly recommend.

Creamy facial lotion; also soothes dry hands
This is a lotion that absorbs somewhat well and provides a good moisture barrier. It's tinted lightly blue but goes on like regular moisturizer. The tube is an ample size. Initially, it feels tacky when first applied but it takes a few minutes for this lotion to absorb. It does soothe and hydrate dry skin. There is no tell-tale scent to this. For me, it's a decent lotion but the price-point is a tad high. Although it's a facial moisturizer, I found myself using it on extremely dry hands and was surprised at how soothing it was.

A barrier cream that actually barriers
As an Asian beauty obsessive, I can't believe I'm saying this, but this very Western product may be the most effective barrier repair cream I've ever used. I've tried the whole gamut -- Illyoon, Aestura, Purito, Dr. Different, Etude Soonjung -- and while most of them are indeed high-quality products, all of them tend to disappear into my skin overnight. Which makes me question how effective they are at preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which is my #1 goal in applying barrier creams at night. My skin barrier is intact, so I can't comment on how effective it is for repairing damaged skin; my review is focused on its utility for slugging/TEWL prevention. So despite my strong belief in Eastern skincare supremacy and never having heard of Experiment as a brand, I was intrigued enough by preliminary reviews to try this product. I'll admit the marketing hits a certain pet peeve of mine; using terms like "plasma" and "molecular mesh" in beauty product names is a meaningless bit of science-washing that tells you nothing about how the product actually works. I get that the brand is focused on evidence-based formulations, but presenting it in this way feels gimmicky and unworthy of the quality of the products. *descends from soapbox*Anyway, this stuff is blue due to the inclusion of guaiazulene, a natural derivative of chamomile that has anti-inflammatory properties. A fun surprise! My photos show how the product looks straight out of the tube, and after 20 seconds (!) of rubbing in. As you can see, the product remains a thick, glossy film and does not immediately absorb -- exactly what I'm looking for in a nighttime barrier cream. When I wake up the next morning, my skin is still shiny and hydrated. That said, I cannot imagine wearing this during the day unless your face is drier than the Gobi desert. The only downside is that I do have to use cleanser to wash it off in the morning, or else my morning actives won't absorb. With other AB barrier products, I've only needed to rinse with water because there's very little left by morning. A small amount of a gentle low pH cleanser is enough to remove what's left.Positives:- Metal tube is sanitary and protects ingredients from oxidation- Fragrance free- Actually forms a durable barrier to prevent TEWL overnight- Contains skin-protective ingredients like triglycerides, squalane, glycerin, petrolatum, dimethicone, centella, and ectoinNegatives:- Much more costly than similar AB barrier products- Probably not fungal acne-safe- Science-washing is silly and unnecessary- Mine didn't come with the metal key to help squeeze all product out of the tube (I think this was a limited-time deal but just wanted to note for future buyers)Neutral:- Contains not one but four preservatives (phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, methylparaben, ethylparaben) -- seems like overkill for a product that comes in a tube, but what do I know- Not suitable for daytime use for most people- Needs to be washed off in the morningI won't be able to test this product in the harshest and driest conditions for many more months, and it may be a little too powerful for summer use (I'm imagining nighttime face sweating, which sounds unpleasant). But I'm pretty confident that this will become my default winter barrier cream, which helps me justify the exorbitant cost. Highly recommended for anyone looking to reduce nighttime dryness and prevent TEWL!

My New Go-To
I've spent a few weekends away this Spring and this emulsion has become my go-to travelling companion. The petite metal tube gives me everything I need for both day and nighttime moisturizing and repair. Somehow, it's both rich and lightweight at the same time. It has qualities of a serum and a cream. I've been using it at bedtime over my toner to create a moisturizing barrier that gives my skin a plump healthy glow in the morning and as a foundation primer during the day for its dewy shine. In addition to staple K-Beauty barrier boosting ingredients, like Centella Asiatica and Ectoin, it also has some old school moisturizers, like Petrolatum and Castor Oil (which is experiencing a bit of a renaissance these days). It goes on easily, absorbs fast and gives my skin a super smooth finish and youthful glow. There's no added fragrance and, honestly, it has almost no discernible scent at all.In terms of the packaging, I love the information provided on the box. Not only does it give a breakdown of the materials used to make the box, tube and cap, but it also has a little blue box with a list of the product's qualities so you can decide if the formula is right for you: Format, Texture, Skin Feel, pH Level, Fragrance and Finish. This brand is new to me, but based on my enjoyment of this emulsion, I'm eager to try more.

Skin feels softer, looks less textured, seems more hydrated (at least temporarily)
I’ve heard good things about this brand (Experiment) created by two science-wise women. So, when I saw this Molecular Mesh Barrier Cream become available, I decided to try it.Unfortunately, I’m in the middle of a focus group for a face cream, and thus I’ve only been using this Mesh Barrier on the back of my hands and up my arms. I always test products there first anyway, to not only see how my skin reacts, but learn more about how the product feels. This is a thick, surprisingly blue, cream. When applied, it creates a palpable barrier over the skin. You might say this leaves a film, but it isn’t sticky or greasy, and it soaks in. So, I don’t feel like film is an appropriate term. It’s just obvious where you put the cream and where you didn’t; your skin will feel different. In my case, my skin feels softer, looks less textured, and seems more hydrated. The only downside I’ve noticed is that these results seem to be temporary. But this is true of most lotions; the benefit comes while they are present on your skin, but they can be washed off. I can’t speak to the long term benefits yet, as I don’t feel like a week is long enough to notice a huge difference, but I am hopeful that the great ingredients will help improve and protect my skin more over time.

Small breakouts :/
Great moisturizer, but broke me out. I have dry semi-sensitive but overall very clear skin (i’ve worked very hard) Not sure what ingredient is doing it, but it seems to have created small pustules in the areas i’ve previously struggled with some rosacea. Took one night off and it cleared, used it the next night and they came right back. Was really excited about this one!
