Can you just place machine on top of pedestal, or does it need to be bolted together?

The pedestal is designed to attach to either a Samsung washer or dryer at each of the four feet of the appliance. The pedestal comes with four metal "U" brackets that fit over each foot and each bracket attaches to the pedestal with three srews, thus securing the appliance to the pedestal. Two plastic "L" covers are provided to cover the two front brackets so that the finished look is clean (i.e., you don't see the metal brackets). The washer we bought fit the pedestal with no trouble. I had trouble fitting the "U" brackets on the back two dryer legs and had to use a crow bar on the fourth leg. Not sure why the dryer did not fit as well as the washer did.
