Impressive functionality, lots of fun
The media could not be loaded. This game system rocks! It has a ton of games and systems, and I can favorite them to create a shortlist. The operating system offers a lot of flexibility and options. I can do new themes, create multiple game lists, adjust the brightness and display settings, it’s like a little computer.I haven’t figured out if it can save progress like a cartridge game. It does have passwords, so that helps. The arcade games allow unlimited quarters, so those are great for unskilled players to beat a game without having to invest extra time. I really like that.It plays Doom.It plays Quake, but it’s not worth it because that requires two joysticks, or joystick and d-pad, and this has those on the same side. The controls are small in my hands, particularly games that use the R/L buttons. The games that only use the four round buttons I can play like normal.Graphics look great on this screen. It’s glass and comes with one screen protector. Mine had already gotten a little scratch at the corner before I applied that, so I recommend doing that first. The buttons click crisply. The joystick also has a click button if pressed. It’s a nice joystick for a handheld. The case is good quality. This feels like a real system. It doesn’t feel cheap or have poor tolerances. The battery has a decent capacity. 6-8 hours of play.Excellent value for the price. Impressive functionality. I should be able to add games if I desire. It includes a lot of games I’ve never seen, a lot I remember, but it is not a comprehensive collection. I didn’t see any Mario games, for example. I’ve been enjoying discovering new games more than revisiting ones I already have, and this has a whole lot to discover.I am pleased with this device.

SD card with ROMs, good. Actual console? Cheap junk.
I leave this review a 3 because, while I have used all of the ROMs(games) that come on this "console" time and again, I believe these consoles are built extremely poorly and the operating system needs a lot of work before it's something even operable by the user. First, when you look up YouTube channels for how to set this thing up, they recommend backing up the SD that comes in it to your computer, downloading an updated OS from shady sites online to the SD, and even when you do that, I've never gotten the updated operating system, the WiFi system this claims to have, the secondary SD for game saves that only works with the updated operating system you need to download, never got any of that ever to work with two different handhelds and YouTube videos to help. I'd also like to say I'm very tech literate, especially after this I know how to work emulators and ROMs I know how to do more on a PC than most people do. This thing is basically a piece of junk and the only worthwhile part of it is that 1. It has an SD card that you can just take the ROMs off of and use retroarch on your computer. And 2. That it comes with retroarch, yet save states don't automatically work when you even insert the secondary SD for save states, into the system. But at least it does have retroarch. You're much better off buying it, taking out the SD, copying over the ROMs, and copying them to another SD onto your phone and downloading an emulator on there. That's what I did because this powkiddy is not worth the headache whatsoever.

Love this thing and USB C port for charging is great too!
I have mainly played NES games from my childhood. Brings back great memories. These days you can play a lot of games on your phone but having a device with button's you can feel is much better in my opinion. It does not have a touch screen which one of my kids noticed right away but I don't see that as a detractor. I haven't had any performance issues what so ever playing games. The screen is very clear. If I had a complaint it would be the manual with micro print that is very difficult to read. I am happier with this than I could have ever imagined.

Dollar store packaging
Want to go gift this for Christmas, but the device does not even come in a formal box, just in a carrying zip up container. Quality of the device itself is quite mid, my original game boy felt more solid. Have yet to find out if the gift receiver is enjoying it.
