One of the best 12 year old single malt whisky's.
Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is a distinguished Islay single malt whisky, known for its unpeated character—quite rare for an Islay whisky. It has a natural colour and is non-chill filtered, ensuring a rich and authentic taste.- Nose: Fresh and sweet with floral hints, seaweed, rich malt, dried fruit, caramel, chocolate orange, and apple poached in cinnamon.- Palate: Soft and supple, featuring nutty, sherried qualities alongside vanilla, marmalade, sultanas, and a bright coastal element.- Finish: Mochaccino, dried herbs, Christmas cake spice, and a balanced salty tang.Aged in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, this whisky has been bottled at 46.3% ABV since its relaunch in 2010. It’s a fantastic choice for both newcomers and seasoned whisky enthusiasts alike. It really is delicious and joins my short list of favourite whisky's and I would definitely and happily buy again.

Solid 12 year old
Bought this to remind me how good this malt was as I have got a full bottle in my collection but didnt want to open it! And it didnt dissapoint as its still very competent with coastal salinity coming across straight away, then you feel the alcohol power driving the common flavours in a very nice way. Starting with bourbon flavours, sherry sweetness then comes the butterscotch leaving a very long malty, creamy feel in your pallete wanting more! What a dram this is, I remember it being a bit more hot on the pallete with the chillie kick but didnt get it this time which is a good thing. Maybe my pallete has changed, who knows who cares this is still a solid one in my opinion. A drop of water just opens up the flavours giving you a bit more to explore. Enjoy!

A mouthful
The most complex thing about this whisky is how to pronounce its name, the whisky Its straighforward, smooth & approachableThats not always a good thing of course, sometimes you want a whisky to grab you. On the nose there isn't a huge amount going on, you'll get some very gentle peat smoke and some sweet sherry notes you'd expect given how it was matured. On the palette the smoke is light and the sherry influence dominates, you'll get some christmas cake, some nuttiness and a nice spice on the finish.I've tried the 12 year old cask strength since buying this and its much more complex & dialled up as you'd expect alongside some smws bottlings from Bunnahabhain that I've really enjoyed. Its a great & underrated distillery and this is a gentle entry to their offerings at a reasonable price into their offerings. (I'd avoid the stiuireadair even though its often more competitively priced)

A lovely dram and really good value for money
Love this whisky, one of my favourites for entry level and never disappoints. My eyes are set on the 18 for a step up and should be very nice if this is anything to go by.
