The shoe is very comfortable and tight fitting along the sides and heel
This is an outstanding trail running shoe - however the sizing is off. For the first time in 30 years of buying ASICS in a size 7 (I buy several pair of ASICS a year - of various types) I had to order a larger size. I had to return my first pair - a size 7 (thank you Amazon for free returns) and get a size 7.5. I hope ASICS will read this review and fix this problem (note all the reviews with size problems). The shoe is very comfortable and tight fitting along the sides and heel. The pronation is great. The insert is a big improvement over other models (I often bought another commercial gel insert on past shoes). The lacing is tight and does not loosen with walking or trail running. I will buy again!

Overall they are comfortable and required no break-in
Overall they are comfortable and required no break-in. This is version 4 of the GT 2000 and the insole is not as soft as it was in version 3. Still a great shoe, but I was expecting a slightly softer insole.

A little small, but awesome shoe
I've bought asics for running and training for severa years. This is my favorite one yet. It is rugged and holds up to wear very well. It's got incredible cushion and support. Perfect shoe in my opinion. Be sure to order AT LEAST 1/2 size smaller than other as other asics. I think this has more padding making for a snugger fit. I ordered a 1/2 size smaller and it is still a little snug. But for me a full size smaller would likely be a little too long. Oh did I me room they look great, too? Don't hesitate on this one.

21 year old with FLAT! feet
I followed the conversion chart found of ASICS website for women's sizes to men's and they fit exactly as expected. This is my second pair; my first pair are the woman's equivalent. They fit snug, but that is needed for a step controlling shoe. I have horribly over-protonated feet, so flat, in fact, that on tile surfaces my feet suction to the floors. I constantly have ankle, knee, and hip problems. The tread of shoes never survives with me, and the soles of the shoes literally 'smooch' out like they had been made of playdough. I was an avid Nike wearer for 6+ years and I went through shoes in under 2 months. These ASICS have been a God-send. They last, for me, on average 6-8 months depending on how often I wear them. They have been fantastic for working out! They control my stride and correct my ankles which have saved me from my constant shin splints, swollen ankles and knees, and horrible hip pain. Although they are not as stylish as some of the other options, for me they are beyond worth the frustration of mismatching color scheme or having to invest in wearing more Navy Blue and Orange. The Women's version is exactly the same, just in a whole lot of pink. I give both of them very high accolades.

I had purchased the GT 2000 4 Running Shoes a week ago and liked them so much I wanted a pair of the Trail Runners as well for everyday wear since they were a bit heavier and more sturdy. I normally wear Size 10.5, but given the GT 2000 4 Running Shoes ran a bit small and I was fitted with Size 11 at a local running store, I ordered these a half size larger than normal to a Size 11 also. They fit perfectly, are unique and very comfortable. The extra cushioning in the heal and arch are fantastic!! Highly recommend...just keep in mind they run slightly small, so recommend at least a half size larger than normal.

GT 2000 4 Trail
I've been wearing Asics GT 2000 shoes (or comparable GT's when the numbers (now GT 2000) every year for at least 10 years. These shoes have been a disappointment. They are cut differently than my previous GT's and are very u comfortable to wear. The length is correct but the feel.narrow and tight more like a C or B narrow width. They were advertised as a medium or D width but they do not fit like other GT 2000' I own. I currently have 3 pairs of Asics GT 2000 shoes and these are my first Asics disappointment.

Great looking shoes but a hole appeared where the toes are within a couple of months. Seems to be well made everywhere else. Was really disappointed because we always purchase ASICS. I'm already having to buy a new pair.....

I think you'll like the trail version as well
Hey folks,If you're used to wearing the Asics GT-2000 running shoes, I think you'll like the trail version as well. They're a bit heavier than the road shoe, but you can still notice the extra shock absorbers for the over pronating runners.***Important***You'll likely to have to order a full size larger than your GT-2000 running shoe. For instance, I wear a 9.5 in a casual shoe. I wear a 10 in my running shoes, so I initially ordered the same size in this trail shoe. When they were delivered, they felt way too small. I sent them back and ordered a size 11. These fit exactly like my size 10 Asics GT-2000 road shoes. So, order a full size larger or you'll definitely be sending them back.*All sizes mentioned were "US Sizes".
