The book is a great blueprint for neurosurgery and the sections about the hydrocephalus, the gliomas and neuroblastomas are superb. Great work, May God richly Bless the neurosurgeons and the editors of this scientific masterpiece as it is of great help to us the neurosurgery residents.

Met and exceeded my expectations. The books come in one box and are quite heavy.

The textbook is fairly comprehensive and provides a good foundation in the basic biomedical science that forms neurosurgery. It does review some technical aspects however it does an excellent job in tying the techniques to the basic sciences that guide the surgical approaches.The volumes are expensive and as the field is rapidly changing, so for the expense and the financially struggling resident or junior physician, it is a tough buy. However I think the material in the text is somewhat durable.The online Kindle version is portable with regards to readable text but on PC the figures are not enlargeable. This is a major downside of the text since reviewing diagrams and charts are critical. The online Expert Consult website adds more portability however there are accessibility problems that are not seamlessly resolved--since Kindle could be accessed easily by phone or PC its some what moot to use the Expert Consult website. The iPhone Kindle app does allow the figures to be enlarged however.I will try to find older versions to see how they apply to current theory of neurosurgical practice-- if it holds-- then it may be worth getting an older version.With the large volume of material and the expense, the online version does come with online videos of surgeries, the videos highlight some of the key portions of the procedures however I am reviewing the video library to see if it includes the general set up of basic procedures.

It’s a great book collection but I was totally annoyed that a lot of chapters are only on line. I don’t have hardbound text books to read on line it’s misleading and they should send me books with the entire chapters for the price they should have EVERYTHING IN THE BOOKS
