well impressed. Functions like any other cast iron skillet (if you take care of it).
First thing fast delivery, well packaged and it is HEAVY. I mean heavy at 3.75kg. Hope you have strong wrists.It comes with a silicon handle which I tested on gas stove and oven gas mark 4 (as recommended). It say cool to the hands.In the box you will find instruction manual and a card for quick use. I HIGHLY recommend reading them thoroughly to avoid disappointment. video and instruction are repeated on Cuisinel website. Furthermore, there are tons of videos on Youtube on how to season and clean your skillet. Even instructions on cooking.Armed with these instructions I first cleaned the skillet wit soap and water, put it on the stove medium high heat (always use medium high heat on this skillets even for cooking), let it dry thoroughly. Used 2 tbs of vegetable oil and spread it across the pan. When it started to smoke, I removed it from the heat, let it cool down a bit and with a cloth I spread the oil all over as recommended. Turned it over and put in the oven for 1 hour. I did this twice. Next day I did eggs with onion and mushrooms, pork steak and they did not stick. I recommend doing the seasoning as many time as you can. It will get better and better.Well pleased, and highly recommend it. Did I say it is HEAVY?!!!! Just follow the instructions and you will be fine. Minimum effort for a healthy non stick pan.

Disappointing unable to cook anything due to food sticking and there is a ruff surface to the cooking area. Very unhappy with this one.

Great cast iron!
The quality of this pan, from Amazon is shocking. So happy with this purchase! The rubber handle guard isn’t great, still have to be carful not to burn yourself if it moves but I picked up some silicon half gloves to use when cooking. Pan seasoned really well and is a great purchase!

Perfect 12" pan
I had to choose between a wok and this for stir frying. For storage this was better as it nests with the other pans. I already own a 10" and I love the non stick and browning properties, but for the quantity of food I cook I really need a 12". On the day I received it I immediately put it to use after 20 minutes quick seasoning on high. I made a cabbage stir fry and you have to work fast if you don't want anything to burn, so I liked that... Normally I leave it for a couple minutes to brown so you have to change your style of cooking. I really like the high sides, the absolute flat bottom, and the fact it is pre seasoned. The silicone sleeve was nice and the handle on the opposite side is great. The finish is not smooth but a uniform roughness all over which did not affect the non stick quality. With a cast iron pan you do have to put some work into maintaining it and it is very heavy. Yes it will rust if you do not take care of it. If this sounds like too much effort I highly recommend you stick with ultralight Teflon pans.I'm pleased with the value of the item overall for the quality I'm getting. Looking forward to taking this camping.

Excellent self defense weapon
Ok, this thing has been a dream so far. We've been seasoning it and cooking fat heavy foods in it mostly and it has done a great job of remaining non-stick for a few grilled-cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, and the not-so-rare pan-brownie. We have been babying this thing in hopes it lives a long and rustless life with us. The price was great, and the silicon handle cover is a hand-saver. This isn't a complaint, but it should be known: this is a HEAVY pan. It's cast iron, it goes without saying, but it could genuinely kill an intruder if needed. Take that as a pro or con, it honestly goes both ways. I'd buy it again, but hopefully I'll never need to.

Nice and big
Great pan it’s larger and deeper and is perfect for searing and even frying ,heats up fast and stays hot ,very heavy and perfect for many uses from stovetop to oven and the silicone handle cover is great.
