No if you have already have tonic you can down load it into the buffer or any samples you require via 3.5 jack and you can link all POs together

Has anyone else had trouble with the batteries? when placing in aaa batteries they don’t seem to stay in place and it won’t turn on.

There's a wire frame to keep them in place and are fairly snug, if anything you should have more difficulty getting them out than staying in. Sounds like yours may have a fault.
