Still a great product.
Sign of the times. Plastic replaces the classy wood and metal and actual size of the brush/lubricant is a bit smaller (The “brush” on the old one is a little larger in diameter and was about 3/16 inch longer new - reasonable shrinkflation). Works like it always has, though. Still a worthy product. I like the added interior cap to keep the brush lubricant from drying out.

Works great on my bass guitar strings

A trusted guitar neck lubricant at a decent price.
I've used this stuff for decades. My favorite guitar string and neck lubricant. Apply, wipe excess off and it lasts all evening. No overspray like products that are aerosols and protects strings from moisture and lightly oils up the fret board. Always wipe off excess with the included cloth.

Good String Cleaner
I use this every time after playing a stringed instrument (guitar, banjo, etc). it really helps keep the strings clean and makes them last a lot longer. I have used this product for many years. Recommended.

Strange Voodoo!
A friend of mine suggested that I try this, honestly at first I was a bit incredulous... sort of seemed like one of those gimmicky things, ya know?So this guy generally knows what he's talking about, so what the heck? I bought some, and I'm glad I did! This stuff works wonders for your strings! It seems to protect them somewhat and remove the grime that accumulates as strings get older. It also slickens up the entire playing area, but not so much that you lose your tactile sense as you're playing. Not a huge effect, to me at least, but a nice effect to say the least, well worth the few bucks. It's cheap, easy to apply, and keeps your strings, nut, and fret board clean and conditioned. I would give it 5 stars, but as other reviews have noted, the cloth that comes with it tends to snag on things and leave artifacts all over your guitar, and that's a bit a pain. I can't see that being that hard to address, but what do I know?!At any rate, well worth a shot IMHO, this is one of those rare things that seems to actually be cheap AND useful, and we could all use more of that, right?

YES! YOU CAN USE THEM ON ELIXER STRINGS! (but in a specific way)
Great product! When my Elixir strings lose their slipperiness, I use Fast Fret but only on the #1 and #2 strings (the E & B strings). Supposedly Elixir doesn't recommend this because "supposedly" all the strings are coated. We'll after awhile & before the bottom (heavier) strings lose their coating the top strings start to stick on my fingers. This brings the slide back to the first 2 strings. Does not affect the sound in the tiniest bit (I have a very good ear & have consulted other musicians with a very good ear). Also it extends the life on the 1st & 2nd string. So yes, you can use on Elixir strings (but in this very specific way!).
