Far better plant-based products out there...
I cooked up 2 of the links by adding them to my usual recipe for sausage, peppers and onions. The taste and the texture were both so "off" I ended up having to toss out the entire pan. At first I simply fished out the chunks of so-called "Italian sausage" and put them in my dog's bowl. I have a rescue pug who has never been known to turn down any food. He sniffed it, bit into one slice of it, promptly spit it out and stared at me accusingly like "What the *bleep* is this"??? LOL. I tried to resurrect the rest of the wonderful roasted veggies, but that odd taste had permeated them so I had to toss the whole pan into the trash. Never again with that brand!!

Not very good
I bought one pack of the Tofurky Original Italian Sausage at Walmart and just tried two of them. I ate one with a slice of whole wheat bread for a bun and another with a slice of whole wheat bread for a bun and ketchup. This product was not worth the $4 I spent on a package of 4 sausages. It did not taste like meat at all. It is mainly made from tofu and soy and you can tell. It has a very grainy taste to it. The spices are a little overwhelming too. It's not a terrible product but I definitely would not use it as a meat substitute because the only part of the product that made me think of sausage was the appearance of the product.

My new vegi hot dog
I needed to switch dogs from another vegi brand because i found out they use Hexane (a known carcinogen) in their extraction process. Hexane is used for extraction in many plant based products so you should do your research. There is no regulation in the U.S. as to the amount of residual Hexane that can remain on the product. In Europe they are very strict about this. The amount remaining on products in random tests in this country far exceeded the European minimum standards. In my childhood (60's) I grew up in Brooklyn and ate many hot dogs at Coney Island at Nathan's Famous. They are not the same now. I've turned vegetarian since and try to simulate the taste of the Nathan's one. I never liked that "meaty taste" so I am not interested in that. In fact if a hot dog (or any meat) had a meaty taste I rejected it. This is why I eventually became vegetarian. This sausage uses Italian spices so its not close to Nathan's but I can live with that because they use Organic Tofu which my previous vegi dog did not. I put it in a bun with mustard and sauerkraut and I'm good to go. It may not taste like Nathan's but it fulfills the same role. The secret that most people don't know about how to replicate the original Nathan's hot dogs from a vegetarian one is to saute them in butter. The previous brand I used were plain so I could turn them from boring to spectacular just doing that. I prepare the Tofurky sausages in the same manner.Only thing I don't like is the calories are a little high for a "snack". 280 c for one and 560 c for two. Kind of high if you intermittently diet like I do.

So good
I’ve never purchased these on amazon but I buy them regularly at the grocery store for about $3.50 a package. They are soooooo good. They’re good by themselves, in a wrap, in a scramble, in pasta. Basically anything. Everyone I know who’s tried them loves them too. Even non-vegans/vegetarians.

Unexpectedly delicious!
These have become a staple for us. I love them cut up and sauted then mixed into eggs, pasta, as a pizza topping and more. So filling, flavorful, and healthy. Even people who say that don't like tofu have loved these when I serve them.

Sorry but a real miss!
I buy as much plant-based meat substitutes and tofu/soy as I can, and so I tried these Italian sausages in with with marinara sauce and pasta. Unfortunately the texture and flavor was really poor and I threw the rest away. Grainy, mealy, and a consistency like dirt, paste and clay mixed together with spices but a very flat flavor. Some brands I love are Lightlife, Morningstar Farms and Hodo. Sorry but Tofurky really needs to up their game on this one!

Soy product... if you’re allergic
Dry, soy, basil... if you like these you’ll like tofurkey Italian sausages. A $1 product that retails for $4-5. Better off making your own with chickpeas, simple recipes on YouTube. They seriously need to drop soy... way to many soy allergies in the vegan population...
