I've bought Goody products for years, and after purchasing two different brands of cheaper clips here on Amazon and finding them unsatisfactory (one was simply way too large, and doesn't hold my hair, the other was poorly made and tearing it out :( ) I have returned to Goody. These are, as with all Goody products, quite reliable, and good quality. And at a great price! $3.99 for a 6 pack is quite competitive to what I've spent in the grocery story or big box store in the past. In my experience, the painted coating on these type of clips does eventually wear out (all that flexing causes it to chip eventually), but the coating used by Goody lasts longer than most other brands I've bought.The one caveat I must add is that these are not only assorted colors, they are assorted *sizes*. If you look closely at the pictures, you can see that - I did not, because the one picture with sizes on it (1.6" and 3 cm) is misleading. If you look *closely* you can see that only 1/2 of the clips are this size. The other 3 clips are smaller. Indeed, *quite* small (I'm sure they are children's clips). This was initially very concerning for me - I bought 3 packages so that I would have enough clips to use in one color to hold my hair, and this means that I only have 1/2 as many clips as I thought I would have which are the size I'm used to, and all in one color. In practice, however, I find that this is working for me. Let me clarify - I'm 62 yrs. old with fine, thinning hair, so my problem is keeping all my hair neat and confined in a ponytail, as I can't stand it on my face or my shoulders. So the small clips are working for me better than expected. That might not be the case for you, so just be aware, that what you're getting are 6 *small* clips, and 6 *medium* clips, no large clips, and in 3 different dark colors (although the two darkest are close enough they will likely both look black if your hair is dark enough). The seller is not at fault here, as the pictures and descriptions are accurate, but since they don't show both sizes on the picture with dimensions, it's just a bit misleading for folks like me with poor eyesight. :)

I really like this type of clip. In fact, I have some of the small plain, metal ones. But my hair is too long & thick for those to work, without using a whole bunch of them. So, I thought I'd get these.There's nothing wrong with them & they're what I wanted..... except for the COLOR. I didn't realize that what I would be sent was NOT what was pictured & what I actually wanted (kinda off-white & lavender-ish), but some random color. I ended up with the tortoise & black "set".They should really give us the option to choose.And that is why only 4 stars.

If you have very thick curls, (which I do) these clips stayed in place and held up great!

Wanted all same size. Misleading.

My hair falls out very easily. So I like these clips they don't pull my hair out. I use them to clip my hair back to put on a wig. Might sound crazy, but I'm losing my hair.

"Goody" comes through as always, with a quality product at a fair price. I chose these particular clips because I felt they would be less conspicuous in my hair as they are not the usual shiny silver type of barrettes. I tend to use multiple clips at once to tame flyaways and the little curly frizz that occurs when I'm working my twelve hour shifts. these colors blend well into my dark blonde hair, have a nice strong grip, and do not slide around once they are placed. I do tend to break hairs occasionally when I take them out, as sometimes a hair or two will become caught on the space where the metal of the clips is held together (like a grommet), but this is not necessarily a flaw in design, just happens to be an expected hazard. I will be buying more of these, and feel confident that they will retain their strength and spring even after months of daily use!
