I play classical guitar at an intermediate level on a Manuel Rodriguez (1992) guitar with a relatively high action. Choice of strings is highly subjective. I normally use Augustine Reds but have never been satisfied with the G string, which always sounded thick and dull. These strings are a completely different experience. First, they are much thinner, which means slight adjustments in both left and right hands. You may have to revise your fingernails to accommodate the narrower gauge, especially in the trebles. Being thinner, the trebles are quite easy to finger even with a high saddle. The comment below is correct - the G3 string does not need compensation at the saddle. It is almost as thin as the other two treble strings. Overall, the sound of these strings is incredibly bright, clear, and bell-like. The G string is outstanding, and balances beautifully with the other two. The bass strings are also noticeably thinner, leading to some missed notes under my intermediate fingers. They are very resonant, and when plucked with a full nail may be a bit too bright. On the plus side, they have a much wider dynamic range than the strings I am used to, so a little technique goes a long way toward intonation. I’m waiting to see how they break in as the bass strings tend to dull a bit with use. Once tensioned, they remain in tune quite well requiring just a minor pre-session tuning.Recommendation: I would not recommend these strings for beginners as they are very responsive and aren’t cheap. However, if you are interested in expanding the tonal capabilities of your guitar, are unhappy with that flabby G string, and want to try something new under your fingers, you would do well to give these strings a try.

I am really happy with these strings. They are very playable (not too taught) and have no compromise on sound quality and projection. The trebles are very rich and sound wonderful on my guitar (Savage model 10 with Cedar) and they project strong - exactly what I was looking for. The basses are also rich and project well. They are perhaps a bit too "bright" in comparison to the trebles, but this is a very small issue. I truly like how these strings sound. I have had them for a day now and they are just starting to stabilize (hold their tuning). I very much recommend these strings.

By far the best blend of strings in one package. G string is nice and bright.However, if your classical guitar has a compensated bridge with the 3rd string saddle notch further back and you are picky about your intonation you will notice that the string is flat in the higher registers....because it is a much thinner string and doesn't need the saddle THAT compensated.

The strings are good. The shipping cost $26!!! I'll never buy again from this seller. I could have bought three sets of strings at my local music center.
