Netgear full mesh network
The Nighthawk X4S extender is expensive for a Wi-Fi repeater, but it delivers excellent performance. Those distinctions are both down to its tri-band design, which uses not one but two 5GHz radios, along with a 2.4GHz one for older devices. That translates to a big bandwidth boost over the majority of cheaper extenders, which make do with a single 5GHz radio. Physically, the Nighthawk X4S is a chunky unit and it only supports Wi-Fi 5, rather than super-fast Wi-Fi 6. It has little in the way of advanced features, either. For what it is, though, the Netgear Nighthawk X4S is a terrific piece of kit. It delivers excellent Wi-Fi performance while being cheaper and easier to install than a full-blown mesh system.

Easy setup
Have tried other range extenders to no avail. Netgear unit was basically plug and play. Straight forward setup via Nighthawk app. Needed unit for connecting smart home devices where signal was patchy, now receiving strong signal in all areas.

Range
The NETGEAR Wifi Mesh Range Extender EX7500 is a compact, yet powerful device designed to enhance your home Wi-Fi network. It boasts an impressive coverage of up to 2000 sq.ft., making it an ideal solution for medium to large homes struggling with dead zones. With the ability to support up to 40 devices, this extender ensures that everyone in your household can enjoy seamless internet connectivity without any drop in performance. The tri-band technology, which includes one 2GHz band and two 5GHz bands, allows for a combined wireless speed of up to 2200Mbps. This means that high-bandwidth activities like 4K streaming and online gaming can be enjoyed without any lag.One of the standout features of the EX7500 is its Mesh Smart Roaming capability. This feature, often found in more expensive mesh systems, enables your devices to automatically connect to the strongest Wi-Fi signal as you move around your home. The absence of Ethernet ports might be a downside for some, but the ease of setup and the fact that it plugs directly into a wall socket, makes it a convenient choice for those looking to extend their Wi-Fi without the hassle of cables and additional hardware. In terms of performance, the EX7500 has received positive reviews for its close-range capabilities, outperforming many of its competitors. However, some users have noted that its long-range performance could see some improvement. The dedicated backhaul band is a feature borrowed from NETGEAR's Orbi systems, which effectively reduces signal loss and ensures that the extended Wi-Fi network performs optimally. The device's design is sleek and unobtrusive, with a wall-plug form factor that saves space and eliminates the need for cables. It's also relatively lightweight, making it easy to relocate if necessary. The setup process is straightforward, with a simple web interface and the option to use WPS for an even quicker installation. Once set up, the EX7500 replicates your existing router's Wi-Fi settings, making the transition seamless. While the EX7500 may not support the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology, it remains a strong contender in the Wi-Fi 5 category, providing robust performance for its price point. Users have reported a significant increase in Wi-Fi strength and speed upon installation, which speaks volumes about its capabilities. Overall, the NETGEAR Wifi Mesh Range Extender EX7500 is a solid choice for those looking to enhance their home network without investing in a full mesh system. Its ease of use, combined with effective performance, makes it a valuable addition to any home.

An Excellent WiFi Booster by Netgear
Not often the description of a product gets excelled by its use but this booster is a beast! My Virgin cable broadband is the second fastest they offer but it simply didn’t cover our bungalow and gave out a very poor signal and trying to get Virgin to help is just a joke.So read a few reviews about a few boosters/extenders and choose this Netgear product, not the cheapest nor the dearest but it is an amazing fantastic product and I would recommend it to anyone on Virgin WiFi should they be struggling and would imagine it work’s fantastic on any WiFi. I can now watch Prime movies at the far end of the garden seamlessly. For those who reviewed the product saying it was difficult to install, I would suggest you read the instructions the right way up! This simply plugged in next to the Virgin box powered up went green and I pressed both WPS buttons and it connected within 60seconds, and that was not using any instructions. Moved the extender and have not had any problems since.

buyer alert - Net Gear state this won't connect to a 4g router
UPDATED REVIEW AT 6 MONTHS OLD - worth reading if you're considering buying this item!We replaced our mains powered 4G LTE router - which had expired - and we're loving our replacement (a D Link 953).We even, now, have 2 4G routers - a battery powered mobile Huawei E5577 (awesome bit of kit!) and a main powered one.The Net Gear extender worked really well with our previous main powered Huawei B525 4G router and it works well with our Huawei mobile 4G router. However, it will not work with our D Link 4G router.I can set it up to extend, but then lose all control - you can't acess the portal once the set up is complete. My computers can all connect to it, as can our really old smart phones, but out newest smart phones won't connect. So i got in touch with Net Gear support, and the message below is copied and pasted - the short answer is, you can't Net Gear extenders with 4G routers. So avoid this extender - either they are correct (they're not) or there is an issue - either way, you're on your own, so avoid this product at all costs and try something else.Apparently my extender is maflunctioning because of my router as it can't connect to 4G routers...................which other LTE routers can connect to............and which this particular extender connected to other in the past...............This is a direct quote from a conversation I'm currently having with NetGeat technical support:"NETGEAR Support - 2020-08-31 23:26:49Hello xxxxx, Thank you for your response. The issue you are facing is because of the router you have. Extender is not compatible with any 4G LTE router and that is the only reason why it is malfunctioning. Please do let us know if we can assist you further with any other queries/concerns. Thanks, xxxxx Netgear Support"

mediocre performance, expensive
Always been a netgear fan, however their extenders are lacking. At least this one has mediocre coverage and features to what it advertises. I have tried number of locations to get the best of the product with no avail. Also had to reset the extender twice then update its firmware, finally it was working. The installation page or app are also lacking, there's also no ethernet port. The price is high to what it offers.Currently using it to cover a small area with poor coverage, however the performance is not that great.Had some issues getting this product delivered, so I am hesitating returning it.Sadly I am giving it a 3. I would not recommend this product.
