We use this on our car and RV we just had to use an extended hitch for the RV..to get past the large box on the back of our RV.

that is going to depend on what you have it mounted to. I dont know the exact height of the upright bar but both my adult size bikes fit on there without the tires being below the hitch mount point. hope that helps
