Is this product non-GMO?.

Accepted Answer

No, we do not claim that this product is non-GMO as it contains soy. It is estimated that over 90% of the US soy crop is GMO. We do make and distribute a 200mg Ubiquinol CoQ10 that we certify as  being soy-free and Non-GMO. At the present time, we cannot say the same for the 200mg Q-Gel CoQ10 even though the amount of soy in each soft gel is VERY small.

Question 2

I am concerned as to whether the product will be damaged during shipping because of high summer temperatures (95+ on my end)?

Accepted Answer

There is no doubt, that excessive long term exposure to high temperatures can be a problem with soft gels. We have done extensive testing in this area, even going so far as to leave Q-Gel CoQ10 bottles in the trunks of our cars for up to 3 days straight during a 95 to 100 degree August New York heat weave. The result: most of the soft gels lost their shape and some even broke apart. However, when we assayed the product contained within the soft gels, (Q-Gel CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid etc.), there was no loss of potency or strength.Bottom line is that in very hot weather it is likely that the soft gels will stick together during shipment but if they can be "shaken" apart and they have not broken open then there is absolutely no problem using them - even if they have lost their shape a little bit. If they have broken apart and contents have leaked out then they should be returned for replacement. We have a 90-Day return policy so please be sure to open your package within three months of receiving it.NOTE: if you live in a very hot area of Arizona, Texas, Florida or other "hot" state, you may want to consider using one of Tishcon's bio-enhanced H2Q® CoQ10 Vegecapsules or their Chewable CoQ10 products in the hot summer months. Both bio-enhanced CoQ10 paroducts are very "Hot-Weather" stable.

Question 3

Can these be split open and mixed with mouthwash for oral care?

The answer is Yes though it is not recommended (sloppy and CoQ10 tastes terrible). Also, since it is in a soft gel and not a capsule, it would have to be cut open with a sharp object or knife. The CoQ10 when swallowed as instructed should spread through your body -- including to your gums. Here is some additional information: Studies have shown that people with periodontal disease can have significantly lower levels of CoQ10 than do people with healthy gums.
