The base/mount is rough ground on top, and will leave marks on your work, but is fairly soft and can be filed flat and smooth.

This product is as advertised, although mine did not come with the wooden bit, I am still giving it 5 stars simply because I am so impressed by the quality for the price. The mandrels are substantial and seat deeply into the bench vise, so that I can hammer away to my hearts content, without worrying that they will not remain secure.

The screw provided to hold the ring mandrel doesn’t fit the hole so u cannot use the ring mandrel. The flimsy anchor to the table comes loose every time you bang on it, which is what you are meant to do with anvils… poorly made and came missing both wood pieces. Waited a month to receive it. Spend the money on a better product. If the price seems too good to be true, it’s because it IS.

This is a perfect set for jewelry making.

Very heavy and well made. It's a nice set up for metal working and I'm really pleased! It does come well coated in oil, but that's normal. I didn't see any issues with corrosion on mine and it arrived earlier than estimated.Very happy.
