Cheap option if unable to afford professional ceramic
I’ve been using the Chemical Guys WAC22916 HydroSlick Intense Gloss SiO2 Ceramic Coating Hyperwax on my truck for a full year, and it’s been a reliable choice for boosting shine and protection with minimal fuss. The gel formula applies easily with a microfiber pad—4-5 dime-sized drops per panel, spread thinly, and buffed off after a minute—leaving a deep, glossy finish that makes the paint pop and water bead impressively. After a proper wash and clay bar prep, it took about 2 hours to coat my truck, and the hydrophobic effect held up well through rain, dust, and occasional off-road grime, making washes quicker as dirt slid off easily. The 16 oz bottle, priced around $39.99, is concentrated and lasted me three full applications over the year when used sparingly. It’s a great middle ground for DIYers who want ceramic-like protection without the cost or commitment of a pro coating. However, the “up to a year” durability claim didn’t fully hold up. By month 6-7, the beading and gloss started fading on high-exposure areas like the hood and roof, as some Amazon and Reddit reviews also noted, requiring a reapplication to maintain the effect. The gel can streak if you over-apply or don’t buff quickly enough, which was a learning curve, and thorough surface prep is non-negotiable for good results. Compared to professional ceramic coatings, it’s less durable, and some users prefer spray-on ceramics like Turtle Wax Hybrid for easier application. The bottle’s dropper tip also clogged a few times, which was annoying. For the price and ease, it’s a solid option for maintaining a glossy, protected finish, but expect to reapply every 4-6 months for best results, especially on daily-driven vehicles.

Easy to apply
I have used this on 4 cars, a couple are kinda high end. Easy to apply and remove. No frets about if it’s dry enough to didn’t take, like wax can be. The depth of shine is very good and lasts about 6 months. I use at least 2 coats per session so I do not miss any places.Goosenest rating; buy with confidence

Bottom line. This works 100%
Absolutely incredible. Wow, double wow. I have been waiting and watching how this product reacts to all the rain we’ve experienced over the past month. Never once did I have to wipe the truck down to get rid of the water marks. I used this on every inch of the vehicle and water literally beads and runs off. Impeccable smoothness, shine and thickness. Will continue to buy this product for life.

Good Product easy to apply if you follow directions.
This was my first time using this product. Ive slowly been converting my products over to the Chemical Guys product line. I am heading to Kure Beach on vacation in a week so i wanted to get a coat of something on my truck before we left. I watched a lot of reviews and finally chose this product for a "top coat". I watch several videos including a couple from the Chemical Guys website. Any product with ceramic coating can be tricky if you don't follow directions on the application. My first impression was the product is very thick and gelly. When you watch the videos you see the instrictor put four pea size drops and it easily coats the vehicle. My first several attempts the "pea size" drops rolled right off the microfiber applicator. I finally after a few attempts learned how to manage the application. I didn't think it coated anything like the videos i watched. It is important to get even distribution of the product for even ceramic protection. I applied this on an overcast day. it was kinda warm so i applied it to a small area approx 3'x3' area and buffed off in approx 1 minute after application. I used a quality microfiber towel flipping frequently. I thought the product came off fairly easily. Once it was complete the product looked great. I have a black Ford f150. it left the truck with a deep shine. Several neighbors stopped and complimented me on the truck. According to the manufacturer this should last about one year. I don't see that being possible but that could be me being skeptical. I am looking forward to the curing time to be over so i can see the final finish. It takes approx 3 hours to cure according to the Chemical Guys.Overall a somewhat expensive product but first run I feel it is worth the price.

Incredible Shine
Well, I got to agree with the Jello statement in one of the other reviews. I did not find it be be easy to get off. However after I did with a buffer the shine was incredible. Which made all the hard work worth it. If it last a year it will be a home run.

Tried it on my two black cars…
I LOVE this stuff! It actually does look great on my black, black accent package mustang. It’s not that difficult to buff out, but once you do, my black mustang and even my black everyday driver flex look brand new. I use something else on my trim, but in a pinch, if I’m running out of time or just feeling lazy, this will work great on trim as well.

AVOID BY ALL MEANS!
HORRIBLE PRODUCT!! ONLY FOR PROFESSIONALS OR THOSE WITH INDOOR GARAGES!Bought the kit figuring it was a safe option to use all their own products and followed instructions to the T. Product feels abrasive and does not stay on the applicator. I have more of this product on the ground then on my vehicle. Once on the vehicle i began to worry. The texture is gritty and like a synthetic gel paste. I applied in small sections and proceeded to buff it off after 1 to 2 mins as instructed. Using the supplied microfiber clothes began a battle for my sanity. The paste is SO thick it began to tear away fibers from the cloth. i spent MORE TIME trying to get the micro fiber pieces off my car than actually applying this product.Oh and fun fact, you HAVE to clay bar as well before using this. They dont include it in the kit so this is a scam and a half to make you buy their low quality micro fiber clothes. An indoor garage and buffing wheel is 10000000% needed for this dogwater product. I did about half my car (white Lancer) and proceeded to wash it off and throw the bottle in the trash! Will never buy from this company EVER again and will inform others in my car community to avoid as well.
