Works great for the price.
So I use this mainly for a kick mic in my little studio. Feel like for the price it’s a great deal. I’m still on the newer side to audio engineering, but for my needs it’s been a solid addition

Great budget bass drum mic
As another reviewer said, the box says it’s a snare/tom mic but if you record with ot once you’ll hear that it’s very much a bass drum mic. This is exactly what I was looking for: a very cheap bass drum mic that cuts out all the highs and has a really good proximity effect if you can get it right up on there, especially on the batter side. Using it with a volt 476P with the mic pre and fast compressor engaged and it sounds great! Had it for a few days now and recorded a couple demo tracks and it’s good. Can get nice thumpy bass if you’re doing funky stuff off-axis or if you’re like a metal-type guy, you can get some real like that meat-slappy sound pointing it at the beater.I pair this with a vintage 421-u pointed at the snare, close to the hats and you can get a great mono funk drums with just these 2. Good buy.

Great Mic for a cool price! Love It!
I have to say, that for the price that I paid for this Mic for my kick, it's doing one hell of a job! What I have done is hook it up to its own little mixer, a two channel Behringer and to its own 10" sub and POW! It adds so much sound to my whole drum kit! Yes, as I do with any electronics, I bought the extended warranty, but so far so good... I have yet to replace it... A must buy if you are on a budget!

NOT A KICK DRUM MIC - IT IS SNARE / TOM MIC (AND A BAD ONE)
NOT A KICK DRUM MIC - IT IS SNARE / TOM MIC (AND A BAD ONE)It even says Snare/Tom on the box.Kickdrum destroys the mic volumes on almost every setting and placement.Works okay for a starter snare/tom mic, but still 1 star for false advertisement.

Counterfeit Heimu! Lol
The mic that arrives is identical in most ways to the Heimu HDM61 I bought a few months earlier; it comes in the same box and has Heimu HDM61 printed on it. But this one has a plastic 5/8” thread rather than a brass insert, and the glue on the inside wasn’t as good, so maybe these are cheaper production runs. Maybe worth the $9 to get the official Heimu but they are more or less the same.

Inexpensive work horse mic!
Works great for a live setting in a bar or club that you don’t want to bring your expensive mics to.

NOT A BASS DRUM MIC - FALSELY ADVERTISED
Buyer beware: This microphone is advertised as a BASS drum microphone for recording acoustic drums BUT on the box it says for SNARE/TOM. I bought this to record the BASS drum but it is incorrect and being falsely advertised.Once actually plugging it in and trying to record drums, the bass drum absolutely destroys the mic and the quality is garbage. This is made for Snare/Tom recording. If you're looking for something to record the bass drum of your acoustic set, skip over this unless you want to find out after trying it that it doesn't actually work.
