Light weight and an awesome planer
This planer does a great job! I recently purchased 4 ruff hewned 8x8x8 pine timbers and hand planed them with this product. It is light weight, easy to adjust the cutting depth, and very easy to use. It's easy to change/replace the blades (2) and it's everything that I needed to do the job. I didn't like the bag but didn't really need as I did the planning outside. All in all...it's a very good product for the cost and it comes with a hard carrying case.

A perfect example from one of the best makers
I had never used an electric planer and I was a little intimidated by the prospect of ruining wood beams I needed to scribe and plane to an unlevel floor. It took a couple of runs to get the hang of what someone on a video suggested, but I used it for hours and it worked perfectly. Worth every cent I spent on the 'best'.

No complaints!
Purchased for a project I was working on and it did a great job! I researched several and chose this based on good reviews. It was a very good choice and I am happy with it so far!

Works great with a few tweaks
Good, solid hand plane. Like others have experienced, the provided fence was off by a few degrees. I had to bend it to 90⁰. Blades work well and have held on Red Oak. It is a little difficult to hold using the fence and still keep it square. Basically I hold the portion of the back fence bracket that is sticking up while pushing down on the flat portion of the front bracket. It works, but there should be a more elegant solution to keeping things squared up. Dust collection is excellent with a strong vacuum cleaner. It's difficult to plane a wide board flat since the planer removes material even when set to zero. I wish there were a way to lock the depth setting.

Love my new planer
Love my new planer and the deal I got on it. Very smooth and sharp Bosch lasts forever too I only got a new one cuz my 20 year old one had been dropped and to fix it was nearly as much as buying this new one. I also got extra assecories and a case too so can't beat it!

One of my new favorite tools! Not as LOUD as I feared.
This tool is nice and stable. The cuts are gorgeous. The motor can be heard over the noise from my shop vac, but not oppressively so (unlike some others). Comes with a bag, a guide, a tool for changing the blades, a big case ... did not come with the adapters that I needed for connecting it to my vac, but I knew that in advance. I have only planed a couple pine boards with it, but - wow! So much easier than my jack plane .... like, worlds apart. When i hooked this planer up to my shop vac, not only was the Bosch less noisy than I was expecting, it was incredibly clean as well. Definitely one of my new favorite tools.I would still recommend keeping a jack plane around, for finishing the fine details, anyways. At least, for the time being. That may change. I am very glad that I spent the money on this tool, and this specific brand.

Nice product.
Works fine for project working on. Fairly light weight and easy to handle. Guide bar was not 90 degrees to plane angle when used. Noise level is bearable.

Came out of alignment. Terrible customer service *Update
11/11/20 Update - I finally received a replacement on 11/9. I found two individuals at Bosch who helped me get a replacement and were proactive in communication. Kudos to them dealing with an unhappy person (me). They were great. Unfortunately, the replacement tool arrived with the same problem. In addition, they sent me a refurbished tool which means instead of a new tool, I got someone else's broken return that they (in theory) repaired. So now I am 5 months down the line from a purchase with a tool that is stuck and can't plane less than the current zero setting which is actually not zero. This tool is not that complex and it is a shame. I will not buy anymore Bosch products after this. If you buy this, good luck. I hope your experience is better than mine. When I was reviewing planers, I wanted to buy this once and get a nice tool... so I skipped some other less expensive brands and looked at a couple high end ones. Bosch, the most expensive tool money can buy and in fairness a good reputation. There were a few reviews about it coming misaligned so you could not get a "zero" cut with it adjusted to 0 but they were rare. One review about the aluminum plate being so soft it scratched on wood (yeah, right, he ran over a screw)... Okay, I got the tool, first cut, set to zero and zip off goes half the thickness with it set to zero so the blade should be hidden. There is no way to adjust this without totally tearing the tool down to bare components and re-assembling which is an ugly prospect. There is no manual or reference anywhere so it would be reverse engineering. I bought the tool ~7/31. I was tied up for a few weeks and tried it out 3 weeks in... customer support has been awful with 1 week turn around times to get answers... I am on iteration number 4. I tried their chat in the middle of this, their chat person never answered until 3 days later I get a random text from precious... (huh?)... I didn't connect the text to Bosch and answer in less than 10 minutes so she closes my ticket and I have to start over again... They send me to level 2 after 3 weeks. I finally get a useful person who sounds like we will resolve this... then 5 days go by and I get an email from level 1 that says, send us your tool with these labels and we will repair it... That is what I was trying to avoid. How long will it take? We don't know depends on the factory backlog... 1-2 months!? Holy moly... It is very rare to leave a negative review but this is the worst experience to date outside of the DMV so consider that statement before you buy this product. My only recourse is to take my money elsewhere. I had to return it within 30 days and I botched that by not checking it sooner coupled with the absolutely horrendous Bosch customer service.
