Zest it is biodegradable and not toxic and does not give off dangerous vapours. When you use it in a jar with lid, you can let the oil paint settle overnight and decant off the clear solvent and re-use it again. Or can filter through nylon stockings or cotton cloth to get the clear solvent to re-use. The sediment left behind in jar or on the cloth can be poured onto some sand or soil and then disposed of in a bag and then put into the bin.
