I have been wanting one of these Butane Torches for years. I finally decided to buy myself one to make some desserts for a picnic. The outcome was amazing! I make s'mores cupcakes and I toasted the marshmellows on top. Then I made coconut cupcakes and toasted the coconut on top. My cupcakes were a huge hit! I can't wait to use it on more things! It was so easy to fill and use. I absolutely LOVE it and would recommend it to anyone. I love that you can adjust the flame. And as an added bonus, I got a spatula and brush! Don't pass this up - BUY IT!!! I'm a review reader before I buy - THIS is the one to get!

Didn't think it was that good for the money I'd buy again

This is the first torch I ever used so I really have no basis of comparison. I bought this based on reviews on Amazon. Since I have no experience with these, I can't say for sure if this is a superior product, but it certainly fits my needs. Instructions are posted on the back of the box that are clear. I would have appreciated information on how to know how much butane to use. I looked on You Tube and a video said you can feel how full it is by the coldness of the handle. The handle on this model is either made of, or encased by, acrylic so I couldn't feel any temperature difference. I had to just guess. Other than that, it's easy to use, light weight and fits nicely in my hand. As another reviewer pointed out, do not use this on a high setting as it does produce a full on fireball. So be extra sure you aren't near anything flammable. The instructions say to start it with the lever set between the + and - on the slide. I would advise starting it on the lowest setting. The slide has no resistance and moves very quickly, hence the fireball. I would prefer more tension on the control, but now that I've used it I know to be very gentle with the lever. They also enclosed a small rubber spatula and a nice small rubber baster.I bought this to use for an art project. However, it's first christening was to make "indoor smores.". It worked very nicely and I was able to toast my marshmallows to perfection. Overall, I'm thinking this was a good purchase.

This is my first experience with a kitchen torch. It is so easy to use, and works perfectly for me. Filling with butane was a breeze. After that it is just a matter of setting your flame intensity and pushing the button to light.I am using this for art projects. I use the torch to eliminate air bubbles in paint. Works quickly with zero effort on my part. Additionally, this one came with a spatula and silicone brush too - both of which I have used with the paint. I would recommend this to anyone over an expensive brand.

First the pro's:I was surprised that it was as big as it is. But that was a good surprise! The 901 torch seems well made and sturdy enough for daily use. It fills up well and the flame adjustment works perfect. The lock mechanism is easy to engage and very handy!Now the con's:I received this torch in mid-January and as I write this it is mid-March. Something in the ignition mechanism no longer works. I have to use a regular lighter to light the torch. My return window closed a month ago. So now I will have to spend more money a get a different torch.

I have never used one of these before and was a bit wary at first, but it fits firmly and comfortably in my hand and is very simple to use. It has a safety lock which I feel good about, and a button to adjust the flame which is useful for crème brulee among other things. It’s incredibly easy to fill. I picked up a butane refill at Wal-Mart for under $4 which is great as I expect to be using this handy torch a lot. Shipping was free with Prime and it arrived very quickly. I'm thinking of buying another one to use for crafts.

I searched for a food torch for a good price that had great reviews. (Spoiler alert) This is the one I selected. I haven't used it much but I'm impressed so far. It was easy to fill (doesn't come with fuel pre-loaded) and fired right up. Appeared to have a very focused flame. Glad I made this selection.\(Updated on Feb 19, 2024) My unit started failing at the 3 year mark. I used it only a couple of times a month on the average. I see that the sparking mechanism is still working and there is butane coming out just after refilling it, but for some reason it won't ignite anymore without an external lighting process. Even then, it won't maintain a constant flame for more than a few seconds. Changing my rating from 5 to 4 stars. It was a good 3 years so I am tempering my complaint.
