great product, here's how to open the lid
Unlike other reviewers, my plastic tub of tahini arrived intact without a drop of seeping. It's beautiful, mild-tasting tahini. The lid is on tight, vacuum-sealed, and thus you cannot simply pry it off with muscle. Also note don't treat the lid preciously if you want to get it off.How I did it:I forced a sturdy flat-head screw driver through each of the perforations on the side of the lid, (look closely and you will see them), one-by-one, and pryed up each time. Sometime the plastic would break all the way when I pried, which is nothing to worry about. After doing several of these (more than half) I stuck my elbow in the middle of the lid and PRESSED DOWN on it, while PULLING UP on the edge, and felt/heard the air sound indicating the seal was broken. After that it was easy to pry off the rest of the way, stir, and pour into different containers. I put the glass containers in the fridge and the plastic in the freezer. It's a bit of work but all said and done took me 15 - 20 minutes tops, including clean up, which I think is worth it for a good price on a good quality organic tahini that should last me awhile. Some people say you can't re-use the lid, but despite what I put the lid through, it still fits on the tub. I just prefer smaller, more manageable, containers.

very tasty
Very tasty tahini sauce, thick and requires continuous stirring in jar due to gritty texture. Good for low histamine dietary lifestyles.

Delicious! And beautiful.
This tastes stronger/sharper than white tahini I think, but I ended up really liking it. The color is beautiful. (And FYI: black foods are high in an antioxidant that is especially health-promoting.) I'm a big fan.

Very happy to find this product!
I really like this product because as a vegan with Osteoporosis it is hard to find a food source that has this high amount of calcium. It contains 408 mg per 2 tablespoons. i like the taste and just eat it with a spoon until I figure out a way to add it to food .My order was perfect from amazon and packed securely. Also the only downsides are you must stir it A LOT as it comes very separated from the oil but this is normal and natural ! Also the taste is very earthy and natural. I love this but some folks may find the looks and taste off putting if they do not eat whole natural foods. It looks like thick grainy chocolate sauce! It does not bother me as I think the more natural and organic a food is the better. I have ordered 4 bottles so far so I do not run out!

Quality Seems really good with this brand
This is my first time buying Tahini sauce but I have tried it before. I did a fair amount of research regarding different brands, and decided to buy Kevala for the quality first, and also the value was good. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and rich sesame flavor. If you are making this for a salad dressing.. You're going to need thin it out with some of the following ingredients which should be extremely easy "water+ lemon juice" should be enough, but i may experiment with some type of vinegar. Just a little bit should do the trick. I haven't done it myself yet, but will be preparing a batch next time I use it with high expectations for success.

Don't order in the summer, but good stuff!
I use tahini in hummus and assorted sauces. This is hulled raw sesame tahini, tastes fresh, and worked well in my hummus. It does separate, so it needs to be stirred before use. The only down-side was that I ran out, so I ordered it in July. When it arrived, the jar was actually too hot to comfortably handle, WAAAAY hotter than the outdoor temperature at the time of delivery. Delivery Trucks that are not climate controlled can get extremely hot during Southwest Summers, and items transported in those trucks will be as hot as the truck insides, so think 110F outside temp, temps inside enclosed vehicles that are not climate controlled can run upwards of 160F within an hour, so, not good for lots of things. It does come in glass (+++) so you don't have to worry about plastic off-gassing due to high temperatures, but that kind of temperature for extended periods of time can cause products to "cook". (the several hours from the time it is loaded on the truck until it is dropped off at your door). Add this to the list of things to stock up on before the summer heat sets in 😁.
