Bob's Red Mill Golden Masa Harina Corn Flour, 22 Oz

Great product, I use it to make homemade tortillas and nachos. Delicious However I would advise not to purchase simply because it is shipped in a plastic bag/envelope which is not enough to support the plastic bag containing the flour. Mine arrived split open. I made customer service aware the product needed to be shipped boxed to avoid this problem and nothing happened... My second order arrived in the same plastic envelope. split open. Maybe if you order it in combination with other items they'll have no choice but to use a box for shipping.

I have been buying and trying different brands of “so called” flour but they did not taste anywhere near the original “Masa Harina” I grew up eating and loving. This is extremely close to that taste, texture and smell were almost identical and it was fresh so I will definitely keep buying it and am thrilled I found it. Made chili as right away and my family loved them and commented that they tasted like their grandmother who has been gone for 30 yrs so think my mom was smiling

Great color, great taste, easy to use. Just add warm water according to the instructions on the package, knead for a few minutes and your corn masa is ready to be made into some great tasting tortillas. Forget about other brands, this is the one. Don't add wheat flour or salt or oil or lard, just water and that's it. Get Roberto's (Bob's) Red Mill corn flour and enjoy some good mexican corn tortillas.

I bought a tortilla press and this flour at the same time, just wanted to give both a try to see if I could make them salt free. Both the press and the flour were great. The flour is very fine ground but not to the extremity of corn starch, it was a light yellow and had some darker kernel hull bits here and there just like you see in corn meal. It was free of any lumps or rough bits, mixed easily with the water and salt in the recipe and held it's shape when pressed and toasted in the pan. The bag has a recipe for tortilla dough but I was thinking it would make some delicious hush puppies if the dough was a bit thinner. That may be my next recipe to try out!

My husband finally broke this out over the weekend and used it to make tamales. They turned out very tasty.
