Anchor Hocking Café Glass Coffee Mugs, 16 oz, Set of 6

I bought 6 of these in the fall of 2021. I'm looking at another hundred to donate to a facility I volunteer for because I like them so much and their current mugs are unsatisfactory.The mugs are durable. I haven't had a single one chip or crack over three years of ordinary daily use. I use them for tea so they get a thermal shock of 200 degree water repeatedly throughout the day. No problems.They are dishwasher safe. I often hand-wash, but about 75% of the time they are wash in a dishwasher and they have survived just fine over three years.The capacity is nice. I brew my tea from loose leaves and I load my tea strainer to make more than one standard tea cup. I also don't want to mess around making two cups of tea when I can make one big one. This is perfect for me.I like the style. The flare base is stable and attractive. The handle is nice when the tea is hot. I like the heft and hand-feel of the mug, especially on a cold day.Obviously, I would buy these again. They are my "go to" mug and I feel put out if I don't have one clean in the morning. Like my cast iron pan, I cannot imagine breakfast without these mugs, as they are imprinted on me at this point. I pack one for long trips, for what it's worth. I think that says something about the mug, or perhaps me, not sure. Both?Look, it's a mug. It won't change your life, but it's a pretty nice mug.

Great quality, very well made. They are heavy, so keep that in mind.

Hot chocolate, coffee or tea or whatever you prefer to drink. Glass is the best choice for hot drinks, no change in the taste like with plastic. Keeps your drinks hot. The quality is not as good as the older ones, but still good. Only problem is there’s still a mold seam down the side but only cosmetic.

Wow, disappointed. I don’t know what happened to the quality control when they made these glass mugs. I’ve bought in the past, a few years ago, and was happy then. But now, something has changed in the quality of the current product.The box arrived without damage to the packaging, however, when I opened and took out the first mug it had a cracked base, the next mug had a jagged handle with a pointy piece of glass that broke off into my hand, ( luckily it did not break skin), the next mug had a chipped base. My husband came over to see what I was saying “are u freakin kidding me” to. He was amazed and even this mechanical engineer was shocked!So, after taking out three mugs, all defective, I put them back in the box and closed it for return. I am far from an expert, but it seems to me that either the molds are off or the glass isn’t made properly and these were rejects or seconds? IDK.Anyways, it’s a mug that I’ve bought and loved in the past, but sorry to say I’ve moved on.I do not recommend these if this is a representation of the actual mug they sell and have the balls to send out.

Anchor Hocking 16-oz Café Glass Coffee Mugs, Clear, Set of 6. Anchor Hocking glass is a quality brand. I was looking for glass mugs larger than 11 oz. and I saw these on the last prime sale. The mug can hold a generous amount and leave space at the top to avoid spilling. I love the pedestal foot on the mug. We have been trying different teas & coffees and we enjoy seeing the color of the brew. I do not like thin borosilicate glass because it breaks easily. I prefer thick and sturdy Anchor Hocking glass. These mugs have a cozy look and my family loves them.11-1-23

The glass mugs seem fine, but I do have some concerns.One concern I have is the seam in the glass, it does not seem as smooth as it should be.The other concern is the amount of time it took to receive it. The glass mugs were supposed to be made in the USA but took weeks to get here. Why?

I’m having a really difficult time assessing these bad reviews. I have to assume that these people who wrote them don’t write both good and bad and only review things when they don’t work out, in this case. I mean, these ARE glass mugs. They aren’t unbreakable and I’m sure considering any mailing service they COULD break within the mailing system. At any rate, I felt compelled to write this review because I’ve used this one mug everyday for three days and washed in every single day in the dishwasher ON PURPOSE because unless, I’m purposely throwing it around or Ive dropped it. So I’ve sent it through the ringer. Iv even placed boiling water in this and also microwaved it for 3 minutes... THIS EXACT MUG I HAVE PICTURED. I wanted to see if I could make it crack. It’s only been a week but just like any other dish unless I drop it I don’t think it’s going to break. So, consider that it is glass and consider my review when reading the others. I have quite a few Anchor and Hocking pieces and they’ve never done me wrong. It’s double insulated as stayed and seems of good quality. I’m not huge in he actual style of the “foot” I’d rather it just be flat but 6 mugs for that price was worth it. Remember: many people only review when things are bad and finding bad reviews is GENERALLY much easier than finding a good one.Hey, wanted to give an update!It’s 2022! And they are still being used regularly and going strong! :)
