This is likely one of the most used items I've purchased.
If the option for more than 5 stars was possible, this is one of the few items that deserves it.Following the included instructions, it went together very quickly and easily. I have a 4" Makita I run 4 1/2" wheels on that mounted to it without any issues. Looking at the listing, I didn't notice that it was a radial arm, so that was a pleasant surprise that has been quite helpful many times over. The base has mounting holes to secure it to your bench; I recommend doing so, cuz while this chassis is strong and durable (as long as I've had it, and it looks as if I put it together yesterday), it's very light even with my grinder attached. If your grinder has any power, you'll be cutting something and have it bite and the whole thing try to jump off the bench at you the same as if you were holding the grinder without this chassis. Bolting it down does limit your mobility of what your cutting, but better that than taking an angle grinder to the arm or leg. I even leave it attached to this chassis when I'm using my wood shaping wheels; I'll swing the guard out of the way (make sure you're wearing proper ppe, so you don't lose an eye or a digit), and it works like an open faced vertical grinding wheel. Made very quick work of red oak I shaped and used for arm rests on a chair I refurbished. It was much easier to have control of the wood while shaping it rather than securing it to the bench and maneuvering the angle grinder, like I've done previously. If you own an angle grinder and use it for any form of cutting material less than 4 inches in width, you won't regret owning this. 3 and 4 inch square tubing is feasible to cut with this, but you'll have to reset and cut one side at a time. With the radial arm, I've cut up through 6 inch wide flat stock and up through 2 inch square tube using only the clamp built into this chassis, and I only had to support the opposite end when it was longer than 2 feet past the base of the chassis.

Difficult assembly and wont hold setup
It is ok once you figure out assembly and add other improvements. Vibtation during use allowed the adjustment screws to loosen and allow it to change out of squareness. Added 8mm jam nuts and fender washers with a drop of threadlocker to the screws. Works perfectly now.

It dramatically improves versatility of my grinder.
I really like this product. It worked well with the inexpensive angle grinder I bought from harbor freight, and turned it into a little chop saw. It's really hard to hold the grinder steady when handheld, this stabilizes the grinder and allows me to make accurate cuts. It gives you much better control over position, angle, and depth of cut.It would benefit by better assembly instructions. I had to look at the pictures on the package end here on amazon to see how the parts fit together.

Exactly what I needed
This is perfect for what I needed for keeping cuts clean and true using an angle grinder. Also, much smaller, cheaper and convient than an abrasive cut-off saw - perfect for small projects. I put it together and used began using it immediately. It took a little tweaking to get grinder blade plumb but that was a simple matter of adjusting some of the screws. The clamps held the grinder tight with no need to adjust after many cuts.I used it on 1"x1" angle iron and it fit without a problem. You would have difficulty accommodating something much larger. It seems pretty sturdy but time will tell. It comes basically assembled but there are some important parts you have to attach. The instructions are pretty poor - that's why 4 stars not 5. However, taking your time you can figure it out and there are some pretty good videos out on the web showing how to put it together. One thing I would add are memory locks for the bolts that hold the grinder, so you can keep the settings when you remove the grinder. Other than that, a great little tool.

Too cumbersome of a tool just cut it by hand
Better off cutting it by hand

Big Disappointment
The media could not be loaded. I already own a table saw and a 7¼ circular saw so I bought this product because I wanted an inexpensive, less cumbersome cutoff saw for simple mitre projects.I gravitated to the YWY because it had the sliding feature. For two days since receiving the product, off and on, I tried to install my Skil angle grinder onto the platform. I get the thrust of the design so it should really have been simple to set up initially. But poor product information, poor quality workmanship and some design flaws created a whole lot of frustration and now dissatisfaction with the product. For starters, the instruction booklet that came with the product was basically unintelligible: no easily legible list of parts and no meaningful relationship between narrative and visuals. So bad was this that I decided to back to the product page on Amazon to understand what to do.As you can see from the Amazon product pages, the YWY seems to be intended for angle grinders that have a side switch. The Skil has a top mounted switch so you can see the problem. The manufacturers need to address this and not simply say “fits most angle grinders”The YWY stand has four fixing points for the angel grinder as shown. The vertical fixing screws are OK but there are serious problems with the horizontal fixing screws. Their design is crappy to say the least. I could not get them to go more than a few twists into the designated holes. That is why I used the bungie cable to show where this presented a problem.A more serious problem is the horizontal operational distance (from back to front) of the saw sliding mechanism. It should NOT allow the saw blade to touch the base as shown in the video sequence. One should not have to pay attention to this while using the device. That means that the maximum sliding distance should be adjustable. Adjustment screws should be included to change this distance.Additionally, you will have to calibrate the sliding mechanism so that the blade is plumb 90 degrees to the stock. You cannot assume that once you tighten the screws that that alignment is a foregone conclusion.Fixing the problems outlined requires some simple machining and work arounds. I do not mind fixing things so I may keep the product but that is a big if.For sure it is not worth the USD 47.00 as it stands. You should definitely NOT buy this product unless you have an angle grinder with a side switch or unless you plan to buy one.
