Bought for my grandson Christmas gift. He was so excited. Great quality and choice

This track is great when it works. I recently purchased this track as a Christmas gift for my 8yr old son. Now here we are 2 days after Christmas, very disappointed because the hand controllers are not working and I have no idea why. We noticed issues on Christmas day. When my son would press for the red car to accelerate, the car did not move. Kept pressing and pressing and...nothing. We pushed the car a little down the track thinking to give it a "push start". It eventually worked. Not sure if really had anything to do with the "push start", but everything seemed to go just fine. He stopped playing with the track for a little while and then when he came back to it, he encounters the same issue. The brushes are in the correct position, the track is plugged into an outlet. What else do we need to do?? I also wiped down the whole track with a clean dry cloth, as mentinoned in the instructions. The next day, we realized one of the controllers stopped working. We tested both cars, they both worked perfectly fine when running on the left side of the track, but when we switched to the right side, there was no movement, no response from the cars at all. As I write this review, both sides of the track are now non responsive. My son enjoyed the little bit of time he got to play with it, smh. We're both upset. He's upset because he cannot enjoy playing with this cool looking track, and I'm upset because he's main gift was a dud. I wish the directions had additonal troubleshooting tips. The directions were pretty short to begin with, but once the track is set up and plugged in, it should be as simple as plug and play. I will be searching for another slot car track. This track had the potential to be a great value for the money, if it worked. I guess going back to "you get what you pay for" I will be searching for a new slot car set, and will look at the more higher priced tracks if that means I get a better quality and consistent play.

Easy to assemble, just take your time assembling. After a few days of continues use, the contacts in the controllers wore out. You will need to disassemble the controller and clean or replace contacts. It's a fun little setup. For those of you older gen guys, this is not the slot car track from your childhood. The rails on the track are thicker. The pin on the cars are plastic and the contacts on the cars are wire mesh, not copper like the old cars. These cars are much larger in scale from the older tracks.Note to consumers who are not familiar with slot car tracks: the cars will not stay on the track at full speed. You have to back off the throttle in corners and somewhat drive like you were actually on a track. This is not a hot wheels track.

My boys love this track. They love that the cars light up and that the track is huge! This was a great Christmas purchase from a friend to them.

Somewhat difficult to assemble. Needs a flat 3'x6' area to assemble. One car magnetically hugs the track better than the other. Pretty fast.
