SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger - Aluminum, Black

If you are not sure if this is what you need then you should be checking with your bike shop. The name universal derailer hanger or udh does not mean it will fit all bikes, just those that support UDH.The hanger itself felt a great deal lighter than my previous that did raise some concern. My axle thread type was different than the supplied nut so i just reused old one.Bent my last hanger and tried to realign myself with less than ideal results, local bike shop also realigned with poor results. I just bought this and installed and my shifting issues were immediately resolved (well after some minor etap tuning).Extremely happy with purchase and will be buying some spares.

This is a brand name UDH - simple and effective. Has some plastic parts but seems to be a genuine part. I needed to replace mine after damaging the threads when removing/attaching rear derailleur. Since all hangers are made out of aluminum, it does not take much to damage them.

It may not be as nice quality as the versions by Wheel Manufacturing or NorthShore Billet, but it's an official SRAM part (same that came stock from Yeti and Specialized) at almost 1/3rd the price. It also plays flawless with my Shimano 12sp derailleurs.

Fits perfectly but it is plastic as most of these are.Only wolf tooth makes solid aluminum version afaik

In reading the reviews there are two misconceptions about this part:1) It is made of plastic- It is not made of plastic, it is aluminum with a plastic sleeve overlay where the hanger touches the frame. There is a reason for this, and why SRAM calls for a dry fit (no grease, except for threads), which is to eliminate creaking.2) It is universal to every bike- It is not. SRAM came up with a universal derailleur hanger standard which is available for use by any manufacture. More and more manufactures are going to this hangar, as 1) it works well, and 2) it requires keeping fewer parts for different models. If your bike comes with a UDH hangar from the factory, this is your hangar. If it does not, you need to research and find out which of the hundreds of different hangars is the correct one for your bike.

Works perfectly comes in SRAM packaging. I've been through about 4 of these since I've had UDH bikes. They used to be almost half the price they are now but what can you do. They are indeed metal, they have a rubberized plastic coating on them to prevent creaking and also helps protect the frame when the UDH moves if your derailleur is hit.Don't bother trying to straighten your hangers, just replace them and save yourself the headache.
