How does the glass bowl fit onto the light ?

you have to loosen the poles above and then it can be hooked over the black plastic thing and twisted. would be interested to know how this product is working for you. It didnt say it had to be assembled and im worried about the hot smell when you take off the bowls. also it has been up less than a week and already blown 2 bulbs
