This "Lock" replaced the original that went MIA!
While replacing a lock set on my niece's sliding glass patio door I pulled the actual "lock" out of the door for inspection and cleaning. The original door handle literally failed by fracturing at the base of the handle and folding completely back on itself. Upon inspection the "lock" portion of the lock set was found to be in very good condition and did not need replacing, so why did I order this lock? The slider on my niece's home has a vinyl frame, and that frame is hollow so the lock, while being a "mortise" type did not fit into a mortise pocket; rather, it fits into the "hollow" of the frame and is held in place by the two screws of the handles (inner and outer). Unfortunately, as I was attempting to re-insert the lock into the mortise opening and fit the handle and screws in place, the lock slipped down and actually fell all the way to the bottom of the internal hollow of the door. Despite being only about 30 inches or so below the mortise opening and trying every idea I could think of to retrieve it, that lock was no longer available to be put back into use. It was gone for good! Fortunately for us there are a number of sources that can supply replacements. We ordered a new one from Prime-Line through Amazon. The price was very good, and the lock itself is an exact duplicate of the door's original lock (except for some stamped numbers that the original manufacturer had placed on it). It fit the new replacement lock set handle that we had picked out (also from Prime-Line) perfectly and it works great. I did need to file down the door's mortise opening on one side just a bit, but this is a normal thing as parts produced years-apart are always going to have some minor differences in how they fit. This was an excellent choice to use in finishing my niece's door "upgrade!"

Solid Replacement, But Needs Some Adjustments
My original patio sliding door lock broke, including the latch used to operate it. I didn’t have the model number for the existing lock, so I took a chance on this replacement after doing some rough measurements — and it mostly paid off.Removing the old lock was tricky (I lost it inside the door after removing the handles), but once I got access, I found that this mortise lock was a close match. The included instructions weren’t very clear, and I ended up needing to file down the mortise slightly to get it to fit properly. That said, once installed, the lock fits snugly and works well.It is a bit stiff when engaging the latch, but I plan to apply some lubricant and expect that will help. Overall, a solid product, especially for the price — just be prepared to do a little adjusting depending on your door setup.

Works well to replace our broken one
Does what it should. Good value for the money and worked to replace our old latch that wouldn't lock. This locks well and was easy to to install. Build quality seems decent enough for what it is but time will tell

Stiff action to lock and unlock
Item fit okay, installed easily and looks good. The new latch seems uncomfortably stiff to actuate compared to the old one before it went bad. I've set the adjustment screw for optimal reach and movement, but that appears to have no affect on the stiffness of the latch lever. Maybe that's normal for a new latch. I'll see how it goes. An install tip for the DIY, I used a pair of needle-nose vice-grips to prevent accidentally dropping the latch into the door frame before I could get the first screw set. Also used the vice-grips for removing the old one for same reason.

Works perfect !!! Excellent video. Great Quality and Value. Easy to install.
Really great DIY project. Took me exactly 8 minutes to set up, replace, and put my tools away. Video is excellent. There is a video on the manufacturers site too, really good. Simple to replace. Super value. I am going to buy a couple more to have on hand. Thank you to the manufacturer and Amazon, this was cheaper than the big box store which carries the exact same product and was delivered in two days!!
