Great piece of kit
Bought for my father who can no longer walk due to dementia and is in a care home. The care home has its own wheelchairs, but these are all small wheeled "transit" models, with solid tyres (typically marketed as "unpunctureable"). The transit chairs are fine indoors but when used outside, the ride over any distance is pretty uncomfortable (especially given the general state of the roads and pavements). The large pneumatic tyres on this Mobiquip all terrain chair make a huge difference when taking my father out - he is much more comfortable and has stopped flinching every time we go over a bad bump. This means that we can go much further afield than before and opens up a lot more possibilities in terms of places we can visit etc.It arrived quickly and the only assembly required is unfolding it and putting on the front foot supports - instructions on this could've been a bit better but I got there fairly quickly. It is quite lightweight and folds up into a really compact shape, so it's fine parked in a corner of his room in the care home - we just use it when we want to take him outdoors. I also found it easier to push than the transit models. For anyone worried about getting punctures in the pneumatic tyres, the outer tyres are pretty thick mountain bike-style ones, which should offer a degree of protection. It also comes with a replacement inner tube and a bicycle pump, which attaches to the underside of the chair. I wasn't expecting that and thought it was a nice touch. For the money, I think this is brilliant value, especially when compared with prices for similar wheelchairs elsewhere. I didn't want to spend a huge amount on the chair because it is not going to be used day to day - only when we want to take my father out. Some reviewers have commented negatively on the little anti-tip wheels at the rear. I haven't found these to be a problem. I haven't got them fully extended so that they rest on the ground - they are one notch up from that (so they are a few centimetres off the ground). I think that is probably enough to stop tipping right back (and in any event, my father isn't able to propel the wheelchair - so there would normally be someone behind it pushing and hopefully able to stop any tip-up). In any event, the wheelchair itself feels pretty stable, so I would think there's a reasonable chance the anti-tip wheels will never actually be needed. The brakes also seem very robust and are effective in stopping wheel movement once fully engaged.

Fit for purpose
This chair has been a life saver so far. I haven’t used it for long so I cannot speak regarding consistency but overall it’s been amazing so far. The all terrain wheels live up to their name and the anti-tip wheels are a life saver. It is easy to do wheelies in to get over curbs and the anti-tip wheels allow you to get up ramps without fear of falling back. The adjustable armrests allow for a more comfortable position when self propelling and it is also very easy to push. For the price it is an amazing chair. It even comes with a tire pump which attached under the chair and a spare tire inner circle incase of puncture on the go.Could not recommend more.

excellent off road wheelchair
replaced a solid tyre wheelchair. Highly recommend this chair. First time out with it to an arboretum. Mixture of hard unpaved tracks, loose gravel and for good measure pushed it over a few tree roots growing into the pathway. There is no feedback of vibrations through the pushing handles and it took all surfaces with ease and comfort.

Overall very good wheel chair
This was purchased for a person who had a stroke . So having read reviews settled on this chair .The wheelchair seems well built & apart from the fiddly foot rests was super easy to assemble .It comes with seat & back pads . Theres was a spare inner tube and even a pump included for the tyres .It easy to fold down by pulling the seat upwards and that makes it easy to store .It's easy to use with great manoeuvrability in all directions .My only comment is with back pad fitted it tends to push the person forward so it would be nice to have an adjustable back position .But overall a fantastic lightweight chair

Recommended,
This is a well built but light product, easy to use. Functional and easy to manoeuvre. Unfortunately our house has different door measurements.

Best wheelchair ever!
We bought this wheelchair to use for an amputee. This chair is not only sturdy and lightweight but perfect for anyone that is slightly taller. Previous wheelchairs have been a lot lower to the ground causing a poor posture and creating back ache, whereas this one is great for my fiancé as he is over 6ft tall. It's is light and very manoeuvrable for me to push as well as for him to self propel. The cushions are comfortable and the all terrain wheels are great on grass. We are yet to try it on other terrains such as gravel and compacted sand. Would highly recommend for a permanent wheelchair user.
