Are there four straps?

The is two main straps - one upper and one lower that go around the back of the knee. The 4 "self-adjustment" straps are permanently affixed to the brace.

Has anyone tried running with these on?

Yes, I run with mine all the time and it supports my knee very well.. It's very comfortable for me to run in. Hope this helps!

How well does this brace support and stabilize the patella?

Despite the description says "Self Adjusting" and "One Size". It does not fit all! Extremely disappointed. Watch as it is not returnable. If I would have had the option of zero star, I would have used it!
