Rubank Elementary Method - Flute or Piccolo (Rubank Educational Library, 38) - Beginner Flute Music Book

This is an old proven method book. Well worth the money!

I played the French Horn in high school. I've been missing music so I decided to teach myself the flute. The Rubank book is great. I also bought the same elementary method boo we used in grade school band. The Rubank is actually challenging me enough to move through the other book faster. You can tell the Rubank is prepping you for playing solo pieces.

I have played brass valve instruments for almost 60 years, but more recently decided to learn the piccolo after being gifted one a couple of years back. I did not understand many of the finger position charts in the Rubank book. But, that may be because of my lack of previous woodwind experience. I had the booklet in my car when I had an accident during which my car wound up in a 4-foot deep patch of mud. The floors had about 6 inches of mud and water in them, totalling the car and the flute/piccolo instruction booklet. I must purchase a new one and will consider others. But, I also might buy another copy of this one. It's probably pretty good.

I can play a few instruments, and have always stuck to strings and percussion, but have never seriously attempted to play a woodwind. I bought a used flute, and with the help of my husband, who plays al kinds of woodwinds and horns, I was up and playing in no time. Fortunately, I already know how to read music from playing the piano for decades, but relating the staff music to the keys on the flute was a bit difficult for me in the beginning. This book was very useful in helping me to play the right notes once I learned to produce sound correctly. I would recommend Rubank's books to any beginner or intermediate level player.

This book will guide you through scales and lessons to help you to become a better flute player. It is top of the line.

La piccolo es La Travesera, en miniatura. Este es el Libro revisado, sería, más bien, travesera 1. Vale para las dos. Revisado por profesional, para la picola (que no soy yo, el que la revisado). Método ideal para principiantes, ejercicios prácticos y de buen avance con el instrumento, claro y de buen tamaño, lo recomiendo.
