Can I use these in my charcoal grill like wood chunks?

Yes. It’s just wood but it will burn fast on direct flame. It you wet them they will fall apart and turn into sawdust mush.

What kind of oak are these?

I have no idea what kind of Oak it is but I do not use it anymore I strictly use Hickory Hickory goes great with everything and works the best

how long does one bisquette last

The Bradley Smoker is timed to change the Briquettes every 20 minutes. This 20 minute time keeps the Briquettes from being overly heated (charred black but overly burnt). An overly burnt Briquette will emit a very acrid smoke that will ruin the taste of your items being smoked. At 20 minutes, the Briquettes will be used up (blackish looking) but not “Burnt”.

how is this on brisket?

I use this primarily. On brisket I presmoke the smoker for 20-30 minutes and my brisket reflects this. My family loves it
