APC SUA2200RM2U UPS Replacement Batteries - Set of 8

I got a great deal on my used SMT3000RM2U UPS, but the batteries were shot. The official APC battery packs cost a fortune, so I decided to gamble on these and couldn't be happier. Replacing the batteries inside of the tray, instead of the whole pack was a little scary, but as long as you pay attention to how the wires go (take pics or video!), it's not that hard to do and a great value. I installed these in January of 2021, and as I write this review about 6 months later, the UPS has been working great, and it's calibration process says the batteries will be good till the end of 2025, which is awesome.

I purchased these in May of 2022, and a few days ago, came home to a horrible smell throughout the house.I offloaded everything in my network closet, which took about 20 minutes to safely shut everything down, and then pulled the battery tray out. It was too hot to touch, so I grabbed some gloves, and took it outside where it could cool down (or at least be safe if it exploded or caught fire).My respiratory system was irritated after breathing the air inside my home for an hour but with all the windows open and HVAC fan running, it cleared out.After opening up the battery tray to look at the batteries, some of their cases were stuck together, as if the plastic softened up from the heat. I had to break them apart with a rubber mallet. Voltage on all but one of them was low - in the range from 2V to 8V. Only one battery was at the expected 12.5V area.My 2200VA UPS only had about 150W continuous load on it all this time, and the batteries never really needed to do anything because there haven't been any power outages. They barely lasted 2.5 years of simply being powered on and the UPS doing it's weekly self-testing.Definitely not going with these cheap batteries again because they don't just get worn out and not hold energy - they are DANGEROUS and will release toxic fumes - or even catch fire!

These batteries worked fine for my purposes and were reasonably priced.

Exactly as described

THESE BATTERIES HAVE A VERY POOR LIFESPAN; MINE FAILED IN LESS THAN 14 MONTHS. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANY APPLICATION REQUIRING LONG LIFE.

I ordered two sets of these for my two APC UPSs, and one set works fine, but the other died after just 6 months. The "1-year" warranty is useless - they make you ship them back to them at your own expense!

Batteries were as advertised, only negative to report is some some small styrofoam particles that were in there were a little annoying to get off the batteries, but otherwise, five stars so far, allowed me to remove the melted-through-the-plastic-housing batteries in my APC UPS. What is that burning smell? Well, now we know, the old batteries... will update if battery life seems low or poor but batteries were a perfect fit and tested good on the UPS. Thumbs up.
