I purchased this because they're an up an coming company and thought I would give them a try during a sale they were having. However upon discussion with Colorado 4x4 Rescue and Recovery volunteers it turns out that Gear America is simply a storefront to sell Chinese knockoff recovery gear and will not provide 3rd party testing results of their gear for verification. Use at your own risk. For comparison the Factor 55 Hitch Receiver, a guaranteed American made and tested product with similar dimensions and alloy compositions, has half the WLL of this insert which is highly suspect of this insert. I would not trust this for anything significant, if at all.Design wise the screw through pin design they use also has a tendency to rattle out and the shackle will fall off if not checked periodically.If you want something cheap that looks cool this is fine, but if you plan on preforming actual recoveries with this you should probably shop with a tested company.

As always, items from Gear America are top notch. Beautiful piece, excellent finish, heavy and sturdy with high strength rating, and packaged very nicely.

Shackle could be bigger but super nice altogether works very well and is super nice looking. Appreciate the plastic to save the paint on it

This shackle is EXACTLY what I wanted. Proper size, color, and capacity. No issues at all....
