Great purchase
Work great to be able to hang pictures through thick sheetrock. Very easy to use and hold all my pictures well. They are also small enough that I can not see them when looking at them from the side.

Not for use on triangle hangers
While I’m sure these hangers work well for many types of picture frames, I was disappointed that I could not hang any of my pictures. I have lots of family photographs that are in frames with triangle hangers. The hangers on the larger frames will only fit over the head of this screw if you go in on an angle, which you cannot do when you’re hanging it on the wall. Otherwise the frame just slides down the wall and the triangle hanger gets pushed straight up. I was able to hang smaller pictures on the screw head, but then they were not flush to the wall and they swung. I was very excited to try these when I read all the positive reviews, but I guess I’ll just go back to the tried and true method of hanging everything from a nail.UPDATE: i’ve use these to hang larger artwork and frames that have wire backing. They’re wonderful for that and very easy to install. I’ve upgraded my stars to four, holding back one star because they don’t work for everything.

I love these. Just bought a second box.
These are easier to use than the old-school picture hangar we all have used, the two-piece one with the J-shaped bracket and nail. These Bear Claw Screw Hangars make it easier to know the height at which your picture will hang (and this matters if you are trying to hang a series of pictures at the same height in a room).Several types of frame hardware work beautifully with these Bear Claw 30-lb screws:Anything that hangs on a wire across the back...Anything with a sawtooth hanger...Anything lightweight with a cardboard back that has a cut-out tab with a hole for hanging the frame...Anything that just hangs on the lip of the top frame rail itself (these probably wants two Bear Claw screws carefully level on the wall)...Those are easy peasy. Now let's talk triangles. Can you fit a round peg (the Bear Claw) in a triangular hole? Probably. Most frames with the triangle-of-metal doohicky also work well, but **some** of my 11x14 frames have triangular hangar hardware where the triangle is just not big enough to fit onto these Bear Claw hangers. For those frames, I use a #6 screw in the wall instead. The instructions say you don't need to pre-drill to mount your Bear Claw hangars. The Bear Claws do indeed have a vey pointy end to get started in drywall. But I always pre-drill for hangars, because I like to know whether the hangar is going into a stud or just holding the picture up in the drywall itself. So I can't vouch for the "no need to pre-drill" claim.I liked these so much, and used so many of them, that I bought a second box. I think you also will like them.

Extremely Useful
In the past I had always used plain old screws (usually drywall screws) for this purpose. But the screw heads were usually too large or the screws were set too shallow or too deep. These take all the frustration out of mounting objects that are designed for that purpose.
